Tea Workers
The workers who work the tea gardens of India want one thing above anything else. To be treated like human beings and have their needs met by the owners. They are simple people with simple needs. A lot of them have not even seen a city in their lives.
They are content where they are. However when they see injustice they rebel, which is only fair. If treated with respect and dignity they respond with respect and dignity. They are not looking for a house with a view. They just want enough to eat and a fresh pair of clothes on their backs.
We would want the same if we were in the same position. Why can the owners afford to live in lavish homes and let the workers go without food? I am not a liberal fanatic by any stretch of the imagination but a fair person who knows a little about their situation, having managed them for 10 years. Besides the hardships, they are a happy sort of people who like their wine and their song. It is only fair that they get what is rightfully theirs. After all, they have to live there, we go back to our comfortable homes in the city.
