Windows Movie Maker is one of the latest applications for the Windows operating system from Microsoft. Windows Movie Maker allows users to store, create, edit, and manage their home movies using their PC and other assorted home movie equipment. This application allows you to add special effects, alter the format, and much more. Windows Movie Maker has become very popular with users, because of the flexibility and functions of this application. This program can cause Windows Movie Maker error messages though.
Some of the errors that occur with this application are associated errors. These errors are not caused by Movie Maker, and they will occur no matter what software program you are using. This can include missing files, corrupted files, registry entries which are not correct, viruses or other electronic infections, and spyware programs. The steps used to correct these errors will work to repair and eliminate any errors on your system. It is also a good idea to only keep one application or window open at a time, and this can eliminate some error messages.
Windows Movie Maker Errors, And Other Software Programs Which Can Cause Them
Viruses, worms, and trojans are electronic infections that are a major cause of error messages on any system, and these are easy to repair and get rid of. A good anti virus program will prevent these infections from happening, because they are caught and removed before any damage can be done to your system or hardware. Keep the definitions updated in the software, so that any new threats are recognized and removed. It is important to scan your system frequently, so these infections are detected as soon as possible. This will stop some of the Windows Movie Maker errors.
Spyware is a big cause of Windows Movie Maker error messages, both those concerning Windows Movie Maker and those related to other programs. In addition, spyware causes major speed and performance loss on your PC. These programs can also hijack your computer, as well as capture secure and private information, such as passwords and account numbers. Preventing these programs from taking control of your system is important. Spyware generally does not get your authorization before downloading and installing these programs, and they can run invisibly in the background. An anti spyware program will stop this, and prevent error messages.
Using a registry cleaner can stop almost all Windows Movie Maker errors. The registry of your system contains all the entries and keys needed by your operating system and any applications and programs installed on your computer. This registry also may contain software fragments for programs which have been removed, and these can clutter up the registry and cause error messages to appear. With registry cleaner software, cleaning the registry is simple and quick, with no risks or extended time needed.
Registry cleaner software makes cleaning the registry much faster and safer than manual editing. It would take days or weeks to go through the registry and edit each individual entry, and the risks are high that the wrong entry is edited, leading to system instability or even system failure. With registry cleaner software, there is no risk of system failure or instability. The Windows Movie Maker errors will be a thing of the past.

Anti-Virus software is a program to run on your computer, often in the background and keeps malicious spyware and background viruses from attacking your hard drive.there are different techniques that the software will use to keep viruses off of your computer. The software will start to scan all your files you have saved so that it can search for known viruses that will match definitions in a dictionary made only to detect a virus. Having antivirus software protects your computer from getting infected from different kinds of Mal ware that can be embedded in e-mails, downloads, and even programs that you install your computer.
The software will identify suspicious behavior from any computer program that might show signs of infection. The analysis may also include data captures, port monitoring and other methods. Most commercial antivirus software starts off with the approach called the virus dictionary approach.
Basically what happens is your antivirus software is constantly updated with a latest in the dictionary that it carries of viruses. The software scans your computer looking for anything that matches the different files that it has in its list of different viruses. Once the computer software comes up against any of these files that match in its list or dictionary of viruses, the first thing it does is try to remove it from the file. If you cannot remove it from the file, it will quarantine it. By putting the virus in quarantine, it prevents it from spreading further onto your computer.
Because the virus dictionary approach relies on a file of viruses, you need to make sure that when you buy antivirus software it comes with unlimited virus updates. The world of spyware, viruses, and Mal ware is ever changing and evolving and it is up to a good software company to keep up to date with the different viruses that are out there. Most software will update itself with the latest viruses. But you need to make sure that you are updating frequently because once you stop, the odds are that a new virus out there can get on your computer.
Most versions of antivirus software now continue to run in the background of your computer. Especially if you are constantly online, you can get a virus just by visiting a webpage. There are computer hackers out there that can install a virus into your computer from the webpage you are visiting. With the current antivirus software that is out there, if it’s running in the background it will catch the attempt to install the virus, remove it, or quarantine it.
You can buy antivirus software, or you can actually download free versions off of the Internet. Now this may sound funny because downloading something off of the Internet could have a virus on it, but there are websites that have high authority and are trusted to provide freeware that is constantly updated. If your computer is new, you may actually are ready have antivirus software preloaded in the operating system.

Do you know what computer software is? Of course most people will say yes to that question. Computer software describes different computer programs, or procedures. Computer software includes several different types, like application software, system software, and even middleware. To be a bit more specific application software is like a word processor it performs productive tasks. System software is your operating systems it interfaces with your computer hardware and will provide service for your application software. Middleware controls and co-ordinates distributed systems. Even film, tapes and records are some times caught in the broader meaning of software.
Why is computer software called software? This distinguishes it from computer hardware, or the devices that are required to store the software. Software at it’s lowest level is called machine language, which is specific to an individual processor. Machine language is a group of binary values which basically run the computer. Software is really just an order of commands that change the hardware in a certain sequence. Normally software will be written in higher level programming languages, because it’s easier for humans, unlike machine language. These higher level languages get compiled into the machine language. Or perhaps the software is written in assembly language, a representation of machine language, but by using the alphabet.
The different softwares are as follows:
System software which helps in the normal everyday running of the computer hardware, and system. It has such things as the operating system, like Windows Vista, device drivers, windowing systems, utilities, and much more.
Programming software, here the software provides assistance to a programmer who is writing computer programs. Here you will find such things as text editors, interpreters, linkers, debuggers, and etc.
Application software this will allow the computer user to do certain tasks, like medical software to help out the medical industry, or business software to help a business keep information and run smoother. Even educational software, like those games you can get to help your children out with math. And of course the most popular application software games, there are tons of games out there that people buy everyday.
Of these software there are also different levels of software, such as:
Platform software, which is where you get the device drivers from or an operationg system.
This is what allows a user to interact with their computer.
Application software as stated above includes games. This is purchased seperately, unlike platform software which will come with the purchase of your computer. Games as we all know will range in price, so it just really depends on what you want to spend.
User Software, this is written by either the user of the computer, or a programmer for a specific user. There may be specific tasks the person needs to have the computer do, but it’s not available in any other software, thus you get user software.
One of the big things in society now is the pirating of software on free download sites, there are also sites that will only offer the free trial for you to try something out. We all know that pirating is illegal, thus really something you shouldn’t do. However, if you can find a way to try out something for a week as a free trial, then by all means if it’s legal go for it. Trial and error is the best way to see if the software you are thinking of getting is best for you. Happy software hunting!

Before purchasing of downloading antivirus software there are some features that should look out for. We believe the key factors determining the quality of antivirus software is:
1. Its effectiveness at removing viruses (check independent tests for unbiased results)
2. Its ease of use (normally down to its user interface)
3. Its value for money
4. Its customer and technical support (should be free and 24/7 ideally)
5. Its regularity of updates
6. Its drain on system resources
7. Its compatibility
When all the major criteria were investigated we found that Kaspersky antivirus 7.0 to be the best all round antivirus software on the market day. However, it may not meet your requirements so it is important to do your own investigation using the criteria above. Our findings of some of the top sellers are below. Hopefully this will give you some guidance of what is out there at the moment and what may suit you.
Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0
The virus detection technology that drives this software has performed very well in independent tests and gained a strong reputation within the industry. The technical support is excellent and the user interface intuitive.
The other main advantages with it are the parental control features which are not present in other software (great for you parents out there) and the password protected privacy control. We found that it had minimal effect on PC performance (apart from the first scan which did slow things down). Finally, and very importantly it carried out automated hourly updates and real time internet scanning.
The downsides were its price $59.99 and the time it took to do the initial scan.
BitDefender Antivirus 2008
Another very effective piece of antivirus software is BitDefender. its scanning engines are ICSA Labs certifies and it also adds the added bonus of antispyware and antiadware. Gamers should be pleased with the new gamer version which stops annoying pop ups during game play.
A key advantage of this software over others is the rootkit detection and removal feature. Again this is something that sets it over and above the competition. Free 24/7 support and a reasonable price ($24.95) make it a real contender to Kaspersky antvirus 7.0. The downsides to this version are the lack of advanced configuration options which will frustrate the more advanced user. The scans were also on the lengthy side.
Norton Antivirus 2008
Despite having a strong brand and many years of experience developing antivirus software we think Norton Antivirus 2008 to be one of the worst on the market. It does the basics ok but there are too many problems with it to be competitive. For example, there seems to be an assumption only IE users exist. Help terms are geared towards IE users and Browser Defender does not work with any other browsers.
It is a massive 300MB, that is nearly 6 times the size of Kaspersky anti-virus 7.0. The limited performance does not justify this size. It slowed down our machine measurably. The interface was awful and configuring settings was a real pain. Finally, the anti-spyware was not very effective.
These are just three of the big players. Please do your research as the best known are not always the best.

Computers have become so important in so many parts of our personal and professional life that it is very important to safeguard the data stored in them against viruses which are designed to destroy or steal it.
However, many people take this very lightly and never think twice about the damage that can be caused by such viruses. Others may consider antivirus software but then opt for a free version rather than paying for it. What they do not realize is that even these free antivirus downloads might be spam or can inject virus into the system.
The free versions that are not malicious in their intent may however be very ineffective in detecting and destroying viruses. Much antivirus freeware is outdated and not powerful enough to fight the virus or remove it fully from the system.
Keeping this in mind many software companies are trying to cash in on the demand for a good antivirus software. So they introduce antivirus software which is powerful enough to fight any form of virus and it also provided one year free upgrade after which time the user can update the virus for a small additional fee. This software is normally moderately priced ($25 - $65) and can provide a complete solution for your systems security and safeguard the data from virus threats.
When you become a paid customer of an antivirus program you are entitled to certain special benefits which you are devoid of when you download free antivirus software. You will need to pay for customer support, possible after a short period of free support, but the most serious disadvantage is that the software is not automatically updated regularly. This prevents it being effective against new viruses which come on coming day after day.
Whereas when you buy antivirus software the software company is responsible for all your queries related to the software and its functioning. As the competition among the antivirus software companies increases more are offering increasing functionality (i.e. antiadware, privacy features etc) and better value. Free 24/7 live support is also becoming offered by some of the big players. Moreover the software that you buy will entitle you for a free upgrades for at least one year and after that you need to pay only a small fee to upgrade and continue using the software.
Therefore many benefits are experienced when a user opts for a paid antivirus software. Now, this may come as no surprise but it is all too common for people to pay more in the long term by taking the cheap short term option.

Adware is as annoying as spyware for computer users. What is adware? Adware stands for advertising supported software, it is a software that can automatically play, displays, or downloads ads to your computer after a software has been installed that contains the adware, or even when you are using that specific downloaded application. Certain adware as a matter of fact can be classified as spyware, because it is privacy invasive software.
How does Adware work? Well the advertising functions are built into or perhaps bundled with another software, this software will mark or make notes as to what internet sites you have gone too, and it will go off of this information to pop up advertisements on your computer that match the sites you have visited.
Why do people create Adware? Well sometimes the developer of the software will put in the adware because it is a way to allow him or her to recover the cost of developing the software. At times this may also allow the developer to offer their software for free or a reduced price.
In fact at times the income the developer earns off of these ads may motivate them to create more software with the adware bundled in, or upgrade the current software. Of course when these advertisements pop up on your computer you’re not thinking of the money the developer made, you just thinking how annoying these interruptions are to your work or fun.
Adware can also be known as shareware, although there are shareware that does not have adware bundled with it. The shareware that is advertising supported is adware, while a shareware program that is not supported by ads is just normal shareware. At times a way for the developers to make more money they will offer a registered copy of the shareware and it will promise no advertisements.
Just a few samples of some of the better known programs that have adware bundled with the downloads are as follows:
Adobe Reader
Kazaa
AOL Instant Messenger
Yahoo Messenger
Bonzi buddy
Messenger Plus! Live
Smiley Central
Burn4Free
Comet Cursor
RealPlayer
Gator
Hotbar
Incredimail
WeatherBug
Windows Live Messenger
Zwinky
This is only a partial list of programs, but you can tell some of the more popular downloads have adware bundled with them. So basically be careful at what you download or get an adware remover. I found it amazing that some of these had adware attached to them, while others had messed with my old computer so I had a feeling that something was wrong with the download.
How many people have Yahoo messenger though? Millions if not billions of people, and I bet none of them was aware of the adware being bundled with it. Same with AOL Messenger, again billions have this program downloaded onto their computer, where they aware of the adware?
The biggest surprise I felt was Adobe Reader, I really wouldn’t have guessed that being bundled with adware. It just goes to show you, you truly never know what all you are downloading.
As far as removing adware, there are several programs that will detect and remove adware. In fact some of these choices have the option of removing both adware and spyware. Two horrible things that you can remove at once that is great!

The Internet is a fantastic tool and is open to absolutely everyone. Unfortunately, some people are not aware of the dangers that exist. You should be made aware of these and learn how to best protect yourself. There are a number of ways to do this:
1) Make sure your Windows Firewall is switched on
2) Make sure you have a good antivirus package installed on your computer and that you regularly update it
3) Never open links from emails if you are unclear about its origin
4) Only download files from trusted websites
5) Only use a credit or debit card online with trusted providers i.e. ClickBank, PayPal etc
These basic points may seem like common sense, but you’d be surprised at how many people make these mistakes. What follows could be a virus infection on their computer, credit card fraud, and a whole host of other problems.
The Internet is a useful tool but has too many problems and dangers. So what else can be done to minimise any risks? Well next time you plan to surf the net, why not use a proxy website? There are loads of proxy sites available on the net, mostly free, so you shouldn’t have a problem finding one.
Proxies act as a middle man between your computer and the Internet. It routes data to you and handles all requests you make on your behalf. This way, when you visit websites, your details like your IP address and other information isn’t disclosed to the website you’re visiting. Instead, they capture the proxy’s details. This is useful if you want to retain a degree on anonymity while you are surfing and also gives you an added layer of protection from virus threats and hackers.
My proxy website is sometimes called Ninja Proxy or Secret Proxy. It has been around for a while now and is getting increasingly popular. All you have to do is visit the address or if you type in Ninja Proxy in Google it should come up. When you are at the site scroll down and locate the URL bar. You will see the http in the box indicating the place of the web address. Once you have entered in all you have to do is hit the GO button and you’re away!
Congratulations, you are now surfing behind an anonymous proxy website and your personal details are safe.
This is just one example of a proxy website that exists online. There are literally thousands of them out there. Another step you might want to take to protect yourself while online is to use an encrypted tunnel. These are particularly useful, especially if you are dealing with sensitive matters like large volume credit card transactions or Internet banking. The way it works is by creating a virtual tunnel between your computer and the server that provides the proxy and encryption services.
All of the data between you and the server and jumbled up. This is the purpose of encryption. This way, if somebody were to intercept and data, all they would get if jumbled up data and not the actual data itself. This would ensure maximum protection and should definitely be thought of seriously if you use a wireless Internet connection. There are numerous software packages available on the Internet that a hacker could purchase.
He could then download it and use it to hack your Internet connection from his computer. He could then steal you bandwidth, download illegal material, and even spy on your surfing habits. This is not meant to scare you but just to make you are of all potential dangers that exist while you are surfing online.
Unfortunately, encryption servers are not free and you will have to pay for it. It is definitely worth the money though and the level of protection you get from it is well worth it.
I hope you find this article useful and that you can use the tips and suggestions outlined to increase your safety and privacy while you surf online. Happy surfing!
Wayne Cutforth is 23 years old and lives in England. He owns and runs his own proxy website or secret proxy, as some call it. His secret proxy can be found here Secret Proxy

There are few issues in life that cause more stress than technical problems (like computers). If you are forced to fix Windows registry problems, this article can assist you.
Registry repair is often the best solution when having slow, crashing or freezing computer problems, have challenges with the PC rebooting often, or if experiencing problems installing or uninstalling software programs. Often we first purchase and scan our system with anti virus software just to continue the performance problems in our computers.
Registry cleaning and repair is necessary on Windows based computers because the registry has must have files and user preferences. The Windows registry will become bloated and will slow your computer performance if not cleaned on a regular basis.
The following items usually pinpoint the need to repair Windows registry problems: Computer runs slowly, reboots are needed often, computer opens programs slow, the computer is slow to start up, it is difficult adding or removing programs, slow computer response times are evident, shut downs are not normal, or the Blue Screen of Death displays (blue screen with white letters).
Follow the steps below to repair Windows registry problems:
Step One: Develop a List of Symptoms
It is always good to have awareness of exactly what your computer is doing to know what the true repair needs are. This step is all about defining what is wrong with your computer now so that you will have a measure of how many problems are fixed after the final step of this article.
You can start with the list above, but also think of anything else you have noticed over time. Think of certain programs or processes that trigger issues. Are there only certain times that the problems occur? Do not spend a ton of time on this step, but make sure that your list is pretty solid.
Step Two: Utilize the Free Scanning Function of a Solid Registry Repair Software
Most of the best products that repair Windows Registry Problems have a free scanning option so that you can see if errors are detected. Choosing a product of this type is not difficult. There are a couple of key features that an effective product should have.
Some of the key features that registry software should contain include: simplicity of the product itself, automatic backup of files before the repair is conducted, custom file selection, a one year license (not one time use), optimization features in addition to just repair functions, and solid local or remote help files.
After locating software that matches the above checklist, do the deepest free scan offered to see what errors are found on your PC. You will have a choice of whether you want to move forward with repair (by purchasing the full version). If errors are found, you can move on to the next step. If no errors are found, it may still be a good idea to purchase the software so you can use it for ongoing scans throughout the year. I am a huge advocate of maintaining my computer each year with registry repair software, general virus scan software, and a solid antivirus software that address spyware, malware, and adware (including Trojans).
Step Three: Repair Windows Registry Problems
The same software that you used for the free scan can immediately do the repair once you invest in the repair function. Most of the good products also offer a multi-computer license at a discounted rate in case you have several computers in your home.
The repair portion of this process only takes seconds. Still, after purchasing the software, you will want to scan and repair as often as you can (at least once a week).
The time to repair Windows registry problems is maybe about 10 minutes total. Finish the process by restarting your computer.

Have you ever experienced Windows errors? The Windows operating system makes computers easy to use, even for a person who has no experience in this area. Windows offers prompts and warnings to help the user understand which processes are critical and which may be dangerous, and the icons make using Windows simple and easy. Sometimes, though, the Windows operating system may need to be repaired in some way, and this can lead to Windows errors, loss of performance, slow PC speed, and even the crashing and the loss of your system.
There are some steps you can take to repair Windows yourself, without having to call for technical or professional computer help. Tech support can get expensive, so you can see substantial savings by fixing the problem yourself. The first things you should check for are malicious software programs, such as viruses and spyware. These software applications can cause a lot of problems with all areas of your computer, including the Windows operating system. Running a scan with anti virus and anti spyware programs will keep your computer and operating system safer and more efficient.
Repair Windows Errors Quickly And Easily
If you have run the scans and there are no malicious software programs on your computer, try removing any programs which you do not use. A lot of new computers come loaded with applications and software, many of which you may never use. These applications take up resources that could be used by the operating system to work faster and more efficiently. Removing all the programs that you will not ever use will free up resources and may prevent many problems from occurring, without any Windows errors.
One possible solution to Windows errors is to reboot the computer in safe mode. When your computer is rebooted, it may fix any configuration problems or other issues that were occurring. When you reboot in safe mode, only those applications deemed safe, without Windows errors or any corrupted files, are booted up. This allows your computer to start up normally without the risks of a crash due to an error. Rebooting in safe mode is the most effective way to verify that your operating system is not damaged beyond repair.
The most effective way to fix Windows errors on your computer is to thoroughly clean the registry, but there is a catch. Manual editing of the registry requires a exceptionally long time, days or even weeks, and this process can have extremely high risks. The Windows registry contains all of the relevant operating system keys and files, and deleting the wrong entry in the registry may cause even more problems, including the total loss of your system. If you do not have a lot of experience doing this, you should never attempt to manually edit the registry.
A registry cleaner can do the same thing, only much faster and safer. These software programs are intended to clean out your registry without removing any needed files or keys. The entire process is very fast, requiring only minutes, and it is very effective. This step will not only repair Windows errors, it will also optimize your computer performance and speed.

Why do Win32 errors occur? Win32 is the Windows application programming interface, also called an API, for developing applications which require 32 bit support. This API is built in on the Windows NT and Windows 95 operating systems. Some applications which need Win32 can be run under the older 16 bit Windows operating systems, but the Win32 runtime system must be installed first. Win32 provides eight different categories of functions, and these allow the application a flexibility which allows it to work with many operating systems for Windows, but also can increase the potential for Win32 errors to happen.
Win32 allows the function of base services, and provides the access needed by the fundamental resources which are available to the Windows system. Advanced services, including the registry, are also possible because of the Win32 API. The Graphics Driver Interface function allows graphical content to be output to output devices such as printers, monitors, and others. Win32 API also controls and allows the user interface to function properly. The Windows Shell is also controlled by the Win32 API.
Win32 Errors, And What You Can Do About These
Win32 errors that occur may be very annoying, and some users may not know how to fix these, but it is not difficult. There are some things that you can do to prevent errors from happening, Win32 errors as well as errors relating to other programs and processes. The first step is to strip down your system, removing any games, programs, and applications that are not needed or used. This step will eliminate many errors that occur, and it will also speed up your computer and increase the performance.
Protect your system against malicious software programs with an anti spyware and anti virus program. These software programs are available in abundance online, and some are available at no cost. Make sure these programs stay updated with the latest security threat definitions, so that your system recognizes any threats. It is advisable to scan your computer frequently, at least three to five times a week, and preferably on a daily basis. This step will increase the security of your PC while eliminating any Win32 errors, and keep you from getting an electronic infection.
The registry of your system can be a big cause of Win32 error messages, and keeping your registry clean and uncluttered will stop these error messages once and for all. The registry of your system may contain unneeded entries and keys, as well as fragments of programs which have been removed. These can cause problems with the Win32 API and other applications, and result in the dreaded error messages. The most effective way to clean your registry is to use a registry cleaner. These software programs are very easy and fast to use.
A registry cleaner takes just minutes normally, and the registry is cleaned safely, with no risk of system instability or crashes. This method is much more preferable than manual editing, which can take days or weeks to accomplish, and involves a high degree of risk. It is never recommended by professionals to manually edit the registry, because if an entry for the operating system is edited it may lead to a total and permanent loss of your system. A Registry Cleaner can put an end to Win32 errors immediately.

Spyware and Viruses

Spyware is simply software that is generally installed without the computer users permission. After installation, it begins to obtain data and information regarding the users browsing habits and often times will also monitor and track other forms of personal data. The term spyware has recently mutated into a broader term referring to any type of software that is operating on a computer without the users consent to the benefit of an unauthorized third party.
Let us look at some functions that spyware performs without user authorization. Spyware can add affiliate links to shopping portals and thus capture commissions whenever purchases are made by the user. It can monitor internet activity and dictate future email and spam to the user. It can install other third party applications. It can hijack the user browser and add new homepages, icons and favorite links. And probably the most obvious affect of spyware is a very sluggish PC.
Microsoft Windows along with the Internet Explorer browser have been the primary targets of spyware, simply because they cater to the vast majority of users and are the software of choice. Using another operating system or browser may assist in reducing the risk of spyware, but only because it is less common and not because it is more secure. Unfortunately, downloading applications from the internet is the by far the most notable method of infection.
If you are becoming swamped with unwanted advertisements appearing while using your computer or other unwanted toolbars in your browser, it is most likely that you have some form of spyware infection. Kind in mind that probably the most of these come from pornographic and gambling sites, so you might want to consider steering clear of those sites and deleting any email you might receive from these type of sites. Many users are unaware of the incentives involved in spyware. Website owners can be paid as much as $0.50 for each install of an ActiveX control containing spyware, which can be very attractive to many undesirable sites.
After users have been taught some sensible precautions that can be easily taken when using the internet and about downloading software, the effects of spyware can be drastically reduced. It can actually be very straight forward to eliminate and remove spyware with the proper software. Remember that it is very important to combine effective anti-spyware tools with other anti-virus and Firewall applications for complete PC protection.

With the threat of identity theft and financial fraud looming on the Internet, adware and spyware can be more than just annoying.
Here are four methods to remove or simply avoid adware and spyware without spending a dime on the latest “anti-virus” software.
1. USE Firefox. If you don’t use the Internet much, than perhaps you don’t know much about Firefox. All you need to know is that it is a browser that works REALLY well and has great security features.
2. Do NOT USE Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer is like Swiss cheese. It is open to the world by default. Microsoft is continually releasing patches to fix all the flaws in the Internet Explorer 6.X and lower versions of the browser. Although it can be “secured” by increasing the security it may loose much of its functionality once set to maximum security with certain exploitable features off.
3. Use a software or hardware firewall (not just Window XP Service Pack 2’s firewall). This may sound expensive and hard to do but it is not. If you have a DSL or broadband cable connection your Internet Service Provider (ISP) may have given you a DSL/Cable router with a firewall built in. All you have to do is turn it on. This may require you to take a few minutes to read the manual.
If your ISP did not give you a DSL or Cable broadband router with a built in firewall you can spend anywhere from $20 - $60 (or sometimes even cheaper with a mail-in rebate) to get a router. If you have DSL you will need a DSL router. If you have Cable broadband ISP you will need a Cable Router. Brands such as Linksys have built in firewalls and a feature called NAT, Network Address Translation, which is very effective since it hides your real IP address from the Internet. All routers come with instruction on how to hook them up. If you want to keep you computer security free, just use a free software firewall.
4. Remove Spyware/Adware with free Anti-spyware, anti-adware software. Lavasoft’s Adaware and Spybot Search & Destroy are two excellent methods of cleaning your system for free. Majorgeeks.com is a popular and trusted freeware site that has these and many other excellent spyware/adware cleaning and malware prevention tools (including free downloadable firewalls).
The best method is to use ALL of the above. Being proactive by surfing with a decent browser and getting a firewall is important, but it also helps to know about a couple of good anti-adware/spyware applications. If you get hit with a really nasty bit of malware that can not be cleaned with Adaware or Spybot, find yourself a geek. There are many great forums on the Internet dedicated to doing nothing but finding and cleaning such malware. Chances are if your system is infected with it, hundreds of others before you have been infected and have already figured out how to get rid of the malware.

Spyware can definitely wreak havoc on your computer system. Your computer could be working fine one day at peak performance and with no problems and then the very next day, suddenly you log on and it takes forever to load your basic operating system. When you finally get logged on and online, you notice how slow things seem to be moving. Pages on the web are taking forever to load and you’re getting pop-up windows filled with advertisements. Your homepage is different and filled with more advertisements. You suddenly get a new pop up window with a pornographic image in it. You shake your head wondering what’s going on. It’s as if your computer has been taken over by someone else.
Well, it has. A spyware program has invaded your machine. It has snuck its’ way into your system through several possibilities. Here are a few things it might be doing.
It might be scanning your computer cache for information such as websites you’ve visited and things you’ve purchased online so it can sell this information to marketing companies. It may be searching through instant messaging transcripts to find out personal information about you. It could be sending out copies of every file on your personal computer including family photographs and personal documents and e-mails you’ve written and received. If this isn’t your home computer but a company computer, it could be sending out confidential information that your company has under non-disclosure. Spyware is resetting your homepage so that you’ll hopefully click on one of the links on that page to earn the Spyware publisher some affiliate marketing money. The Spyware is waiting until you go online to check your bank balance or pay some bills so it can send your banking or credit card information to someone.
Spyware preys on computer users and uses the resources on your computer to do its’ damage. What can you do about this problem? You can run an anti-spyware program such as spyblaster and eradicate that malicious software from your computer and stop future such programs from doing the same thing.
Why should you purchase anti-Spyware software when many programs exist for free? Some Spyware publishers disguise their programs as Anti-Spyware when really, they’re just Spyware themselves. You’re careful about your privacy in real life with locking doors, closing curtains on your window and other precautions. You need to be just as vigilant with your online activities.

In this day and age, most companies have computers with Internet access. If you have employees using the Internet for personal use, this can create a big problem for you. You may not want your employees using company equipment for their own use but could be in a situation where you haven’t found a way to effectively manage this policy. Perhaps you’ve already had problems that you want to prevent from recurring.
If you have a policy that allows staff to only surf personally during lunchtimes and/or breaks, you might want to ensure that this is all they are doing and that work periods remain productive. Or, if you have employees that submit overtime hours for pay, you might want to be sure that during that overtime, there is absolutely no personal surfing happening. You also may need to determine what is happening on your network in order to protect company proprietary information and protect against security threats.
Instilling a company wide policy on Internet usage is very important for legal reasons but it can be hard to police if you need to leave the Internet open to searches for company reasons. Some companies have all non-company related programs blocked. Others cannot do this because their employees may need to access some programs or websites due to the nature of the business.
One way to determine exactly what your employees are doing is to install computer surveillance software. There are several options for this. Programs can provide you with all the details you need to keep your company at peak proficiency. If there are employees doing things that they shouldn’t with company resources or during company time, this will tell you. You can find out what websites are visited, how long your employees spend their and what information is sent and received on their computers. You can determine if they’re using time and resources paid by you to chat, play video games or send out information that’s proprietary.
You can run this software discreetly in the background. This information can also be used to determine when to reward very productive employees as well. You can easily do this yourself without technical knowledge and can remove it at will quite easily. Whether you’re suspicious of behavior or just want to find a way to proactively manage what’s happening, this can be an excellent way for you to have a bird’s eye view of your staff’s behavior without the appearance of micro managing them.

For many employees, having Internet tools on their desktop is important for them to be able to do their jobs. Many organizations and companies need the Internet on their employee’s computers in order to provide them with the tools to do their job. If your staffers have the ability to surf online for pleasure from their desks, knowing what they’re doing on company time can be a real cause for concern. Different companies have different policies on Internet usage but this can be difficult to manage or police.
It might be in your policy that you allow your staff reasonable access to the worldwide web for personal use so long as it doesn’t drain company resources or take too much time from their responsibilities. You may have a strict policy for personal use during breaks or after hours only.
You may also have a no tolerance policy for ‘playing’ online during business hours. Some organizations have a complex policy that includes absolutely no personal use on company equipment. This can be difficult because providing the resources to your employees to do their job effectively may require that the Internet is wide open to their computers. Thus, whether or not your employees are respecting your rules may be a different story altogether.
Knowing what your employees are doing is detrimental to many businesses. Harmful online actions could not only cost productivity but could also be harmful to the company in terms of security measures. Your mission critical applications could be subjected to worms, viruses, Spyware and other damage if your staff members are downloading files to their work computer or participating in unsafe activities such as online gaming.
There are programs that can tell you what your employees are doing keystroke by keystroke. If you have a staff member who has been a problem and is on warning, software packages can tell you if they have heeded your warnings. They can track and trace every keystroke and action that occurs on the installed computer and include timestamps so you can see what’s going on and whether or not it’s happening during business hours. You can find out exactly what’s happening be it that your staff members are doing a fantastic job and are worthy of reward and praise or you can find out if people on your payroll are spending their days using company resources for personal use.
Company owners and managers need to protect their private company information and ensure that their paid employees are doing the job that they are paid for. If problems are occurring, software can help you track down exactly where this might be happening and who is responsible.
Installing computer monitoring surveillance software is a great way to ensure that you protect your business.

If your computer is shared between yourself, your children and/or your spouse you might want to know what others are using it for. Parents might need to know that their children or teens are safely surfing online and are not involved in anything they shouldn’t be. Employers might want to ensure that their employees are truly productive and not jeopardizing company security practices with their online habits and individuals may need some reassurance about what their mate is doing online.
There are several things you can do to investigate what’s happening on your computer. Computer browsers such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, Netscape and others generally have an area within the menu of recently visited websites, Internet search history or cached temporary pages. You can manually search through these pages to obtain this information. You can sometimes see cached images or a history of URL visits or cookie listings. Alternatively, you can run software to do this for you.
It may be necessary to take the alternate route, as some individuals tend to cover their tracks by erasing the temporary cache or removing the recent history at the end of each session. Some do this to hide their tracks or protect their privacy and others have set this up manually to protect their information from Spyware. If you can’t find the information you are looking for within the computer, you can download software to help you.
One option is to download the trial version of computer monitoring software. If you like the features, you can purchase a permanent edition. Packages will allow you to install this program easily and have it run secretly in the background of the computer system. This will send you an encrypted file to any e-mail address with all the information you want. IT can tell you passwords, keystrokes, screen snapshots and more. If you want a time stamped log of every web page visited, every new instant messenger’s chat transcript, every e-mail sent or every file accessed on the hard drive you can have it all neatly sent to you in an e-mailed report.
This information can be invaluable in helping you
-Protect your children and teenagers
-Ascertain what your employees are doing on their computers
-Determine if your spouse is doing anything against the rules of your relationship such as infidelity, gambling or pornography
Investigating what’s happening may be necessary to bring you peace of mind or to protect yourself and your family. The Internet is a phenomenal tool that can help you in your day-to-day life but knowing exactly what’s going on, on that computer can also be detrimental for you.

You may have heard about Spyware or Adware and even had the unfortunate experience of dealing with it on your own computer. How do the makers of this software benefit?
Do they simply get satisfaction or bragging rights by creating these malicious programs to slow down people’s computers and fill them with advertisements? Well, the answer is that the black market can definitely benefit from receiving your private information and trying to trick you into clicking on their advertisements.
Spyware publishers might be individuals that have signed up under affiliate marketing programs with various companies who share commission with those who bring them referrals, leads or even simple page impressions on their website. Individuals can set up entire websites filled with advertisements to help them earn a living through these marketing programs. Some honest marketers make very decent livings with these websites. Unfortunately, some dishonest marketers also make a lot of money this way. Some of these individuals try to force you or trick you into helping them earn money by hijacking your homepage with theirs and hoping you click on their advertisements.
Spyware publishers can also benefit by reporting your web surfing habits and sending them to marketing companies who will spam you with information they believe you are interested in. This is a very common practice and something that occurs to people often without their knowledge via a slowdown on their computer. What these people don’t realize is that in the background, their surfing habits are being logged and sent out to a third party.
Other malicious Spyware makers could be trying to steal your credit card or banking information and even your passwords to other websites. Identity theft is a big problem today. People who shop online or do online banking should keep a close eye on their credit report for any anomalies. Your information could be stolen and someone out there could obtain credit cards in your name or be working under your social insurance or social security number. The potential for identity theft from online shoppers is huge and people need to protect themselves.
The best way to protect yourself online is to install a Spyware program that erases the existing spyware programs from your computer and also protects you against new threats. Get a program offers a free trial so you can see what’s going on in your system and once you purchase it, it protects your computer for a year with definition updates and many features to help keep your system at peak efficiency and help keep your information private.

Many homes today have more than one computer or even a home network. Homes today have: parents who use the computer for work, gaming and entertainment and also their children use it for schoolwork, gaming and socializing with their friends.
If you need to find out what’s happening on your computer when you are not using it, you can do so by running software on it that tells you everything. If you prefer the long way, you could try sifting through files on the desktop to look at history, cookies, websites visited and images caches but this method is long and tedious and won’t tell you everything. Plus, the others in your household may be clearing their tracks after using the computer.
You can set up your computer so that it erases all your files after each use making investigating the habits of your children, teenagers or spouse difficult. If they are clearing out the cache and temporary internet files after each use it can feel near impossible to find out what they are doing.
As a parent or husband or wife you may feel the need to investigate what your family members are doing on the computer. Perhaps you are worried that your children are chatting with strangers and giving out personal information. Maybe you are worried that your teenaged son is downloading pornography or that your teenaged daughter is chatting with undesirables. Maybe you’re even worried that your husband is downloading pornography or that your wife is chatting with other men.
Whatever your concern, you can find out precisely what’s happening without your family member knowing that they are under your surveillance. Programs can log every move made on the computer and report to you. You can easily install it to run in stealth mode on your personal computer to track:
-Websites visited
-Chat conversations from any instant messaging program
-Emails sent and received
-Screen shots
-Time logs
And more…
Some can send you encrypted files to any address you choose that will give you the information you need to either put your mind at ease that nothing unsafe or inappropriate is happening in your home or arm you with the evidence you need in order to confront a situation with a member of your household. These programs can find out what you need and then be removed or deactivated at will.
Children are faced with bullying and online predators constantly online. Some children don’t tell their parents when they run into trouble. Some children carry on internet conversations with who they perceive to be other children but that may be pedophiles.
Spouses sometimes carry on Internet based relationships or participate in pornographic activities online. This may be something you need to know to help you in your relationship.

Parenting is one of the toughest jobs around. It’s also the one with the best payoffs I’ve ever seen. Becoming a parent gives most adults a new perspective and respect for their own parents.
Children overall respect their parents but at some stage begin to make choices for themselves. We instill our guidance and morals in them and at some stage need to let them make decisions for themselves.
With computer usage, many parents set limits for their kids. We tell them what’s acceptable and not so tolerated by us as their parents. We make strong recommendations about what they can and cannot do while surfing online and for many parents who aren’t technologically advanced, they can only hope that their children heed the advice that they pass on because those parents know that there’s a very good chance that their kids know much more about internet technology than they do. Even if we feel like we’re inferior to our kids in the way of computer know-how, we do have options to help keep our kids safe.
Despite our warnings and the information we know the media and the school systems are telling our kids about internet based child predators and the unsavory information lurking on the World Wide Web, sometimes we don’t feel confident that our kids are safe. Perhaps we just want to be sure or there are telltale signs that our teenager is treading in unfamiliar territory and dealing with peer pressure or the other trials of puberty. We want to be sure that everything is okay. Some parents feel like they can’t communicate with their teenager but see that teen spending an enormous amount of time on the computer in chat rooms.
Software can be run by someone with or with out technical knowledge. It’s easily installed and runs undetected in the background on the computer and then sends information to you at any e-mail address of everything that’s happening on that computer based on parameters that you specify. You could look at chat transcripts, e-mails, websites viewed and keystrokes typed on or offline. This can help you determine what your kids are doing on the computer and let you know if there’s any cause for concern.
Children are our responsibility and just because they get older, doesn’t mean that their parents cease worrying about them. Naturally, you want to respect your child’s privacy but the need to protect them if you suspect something is just not right is overpowering. Software can be used to temporarily diagnose the problem and be removed after you have the information you need.

Many people that are new to the Internet world are nervous about the potential of viruses, Spyware or Adware that can harm their computer, affect performance or make their very private information public to others.
Spyware programs can do a number of damaging things to your personal computer. Spyware infects your pc and hides in the background and can do many nasty things to the performance of your system. It can also do harmful things to you such as send out your personal information, your every keystroke and photo that resides on your hard drive, watch your surfing habits and shopping habits and annoy you with annoying pop-ups filled with advertisements and even pornography.
If you are experiencing any unusual changes in your computer’s performance or have any unusual new pop-ups, changes to your toolbars or new icons on your desktop, you should run a system scan to find out if you have Spyware. Products exist on the market to help you combat this problem. Be sure to install software that you know is credible. Downloading freeware can often result in further Spyware existing on your computer. Spyware, Adware and Malware companies frequently fool users into sending pop-ups telling them that there’s a problem with their computer and this in fact is further spyware. These errors can open your system up to future further problems by fooling people into thinking they’re downloading fixes when really further spyware is being downloaded.
Watch your system’s performance and at the sign of any unusual activity, realize that you are probably infected. Do something as soon as possible to protect your privacy. These programs don’t discriminate and can launch themselves when you or your family members sit in front of the computer. Pornographic pop-ups can turn up whether it’s an adult or a child using the computer. Protect your pc.
Antivirus alone isn’t enough to combat this problem. Spyware sneaks into your system via executable files that you don’t need to do anything to launch. They can sneak in as attachments that you download or by many other means. They’re harmful and annoying but you can protect your computer and your privacy with the right software. This software needs to have an auto update for spyware definitions as new spyware definitions are being added daily. So a spyware removal program is a great compliment to your existing anti-virus software.

In the last few years, most of the individuals have become increasingly computer savvy. They prefer to use the computer as a medium even for those aspects of their life, which were earlier considered very personal.
Previously, only official documents and records were placed on the computers and no other form of information was generally stored. Nowadays, we end up saving all sorts of material including personal photographs, family pictures and videos on our computers.
Does it carry any risk?
A simple act of saving our photos and videos on our computer might sound very harmless to an individual. What we fail to realize is that such personal photographs and videos are under a great risk from hackers and viruses that can trace them and use them for undesirable purposes.
Most important of all, having your personal pictures and videos available for open public view across millions of people leaves you feeling immensely embarrassed and awkward.
Can anything be done?
To begin with, you can simply start by organizing the files carrying such pictures and videos into proper folders. By doing this, it will be easy for you to apply protection to your folders using an appropriate privacy protection software.
A privacy protection software acts by applying certain features and locks on your selected photos and videos. This way, these folders become invisible to the other users of the computer. Even those who are highly skilled in hacking computers of other users will fail to spot such folders, thereby making it very safe for you.
What are the options available?
Due to the increasing use of computers to save personal pictures and videos nowadays, there are many kinds of software available to protect such information.
You can choose good privacy protection software that will be especially designed to protect the photographs and videos on your computer. Such software can be easily purchased and installed on your computer. All you have to do is to select the folders you want to hide and follow the instructions of the software provider.
About trial versions
Privacy protection software for hiding the pictures and videos on your computer can be mainly purchased in two ways. You can either research the internet for some options or contact your local computer software provider.
Almost all of the internet suppliers of folder hiding software provide trial versions of their products. The trial version is available free of cost and can be downloaded on your computer for a limited period of time, which normally lasts up to 20 days. After you have tried the software for the trial period, you must purchase the software from the vendor for further use.

You can recognize physical junk mail in your mailbox and quickly sort the coupons from your mortgage statement with very little effort. Bright colors, the return address, and content make it easy to do. In the same way, spam emails tend to be similar to each other in their offerings, format, and overall arrangement. Email filters were designed to do the same scanning and sorting for your inbox, leaving you out of the process. For those inundated with spam, this becomes a necessary practice to manage email in a practical way. Some people get 200-1000 or more spam emails each and every day; and sometimes more as the list of spam email addresses “gets around the net”.
Until 2002, most spam filters were Heuristic, or rule-based. Heuristic simply means a common sense rule or set of rules used to solve a problem. Heuristic filters look for patterns in the content of an email and match them against a database of known spam characteristics. These characteristics can be in the form of certain words, phrases, punctuation, and altered dates. What makes them different from most content based filters is that heuristic filters assign scores for each match and then tally the results to give the email a total score. If the score falls above a certain level, the filter assumes it is spam and takes action based on the rule that applies. Laws have been put in place to help combat spam, but you must first be willing to prosecute the sender. The most well known law is the Spam-can law that was recently adopted.
The problem with heuristic filters is that they are, at best, an educated guess. They are used when a specific algorithm cannot be applied to formulate an answer, a common problem in the field of artificial intelligence. You use common sense when sorting your mail, but a computer program cannot. So you arm the filter with those commonsense rules and hope for the best. It will not always be right. As you apply more rules, you increase the potential for false-positives (identifying legitimate mail as spam). If you keep the rules simple, the spammers can easily defeat the filter because it does not have enough information.
Also, the rules do not change as quickly as spam does because the rules are static. What may have been an appropriate rule yesterday will not suffice today. Spam that contains the phrase “mortgage refinance” will be flagged, but not “m0rtgage ref1nance” The spammers simply replaced the “o” and “i” with “0″ and “1″ knowing that the human eye will still be able to read the message. Many little chamges such as this are being incorporated by spammers every day.The filter makers responded by creating more rules to look for those types of obstructions. This has led to almost a tag team type of atmosphere where the spammers are always trying to stay one step ahead of the software.
Additionally, spammers will also test their new spam against popular heuristic filters to see if they have succeeded in getting around the rules. They may simply purchase the software themselves or use a number of websites to test their spam. These websites were developed to assist “legitimate” marketers craft their newsletters and messages in such a way as to avoid being flagged as spam. Obviously, there is no way to tell who may be legitimate when they are using this service, and it stands to reason that many of them will be spammers. They know that once they are successful it will take time for the software makers to respond.
Heuristic filters are typically easy to install and maintain. They should, however, be used in conjunction with other anti-spam techniques if too much junk mail is getting through. If potential false-positives are not an option that you are willing to accept, you will need to keep the rules simple and employ other blocking techniques, like blacklisting. Bayesian filters are similar to heuristic filters, but can learn the difference between legitimate email and spam based on your individual requirements. If basic spam protection with little fuss is what you are looking for, heuristic filters are the way to go. These filter are tried and proven through time.

Nowadays, computers are being used for all sorts of purposes. These include a vast range of activities ranging from banking to investing, shopping and communicating through chat programs and email.
Since many users save a lot of useful information on their computers, there are equal numbers of hackers who are always trying to gain unauthorized access in to others’ computers. It is here that the need for effective privacy protection software arises.
Why use privacy protection programs?
Privacy protection programs need to be used primarily for two purposes, i.e. prevention and detection.
Firstly, effective privacy protection software helps to prevent misuse of your personal information stored on the computer. It hides your files and folders in such a way that no other user can see them or spot the hidden folders.
Secondly, if at all someone has managed to get access to your system, such software will be able to identify this and let you know. Besides knowing that some unauthorized user has actually used your computer, you will also be able to make out what harm have they done and whether there is any damage that you can improve.
Today when the computers invariably carry all sorts of important personal and business information, it becomes extremely important to take effective measures to protect the files and folder carrying such information.
Besides, such privacy protection software is quite easy to install on your computer and very easy to use.
How to obtain the software?
Due to the increasing number of computer users, the market has also started offering a large number of options of such software. There are two main ways in which you can choose a suitable privacy protection software to safeguard the information on your computer.
The first way is to do some research on the internet for suitable options of a folder hiding software. Increasing number of internet suppliers now offer a vast variety of privacy protection software that can be used to hide the folders on your computer.
The second alternative is to contact your nearest computer software supplier who will suggest an appropriate option to you.
About trial versions
Most of the internet suppliers offer a trial version of such folder hiding software. These can be downloaded free of cost on your computer. This will give you a very clear picture of how the privacy protection software can protect the important information on your computer. The trial version normally lasts for a period of 14 to 20 days, after which you will have to purchase the full rights of use from the vendor.

If you’ve happened upon this article, it might not be by coincidence. Are you looking desperately for information because the man in your life might be being unfaithful to you? Is he acting strangely and trying to hide what he’s doing on the computer? Are you worried that he might be seeing someone else? Maybe he’s met someone online and is thinking about leaving you or perhaps you think he’s cheating behind your back and thinks he can get away with keeping you as well as his affair on the side. Maybe he’s just distant these days for entirely unrelated reasons to your relationship and is innocent and faithful to you.
If you want to know what he’s doing online, you can download software and find out for certain. If you run this software it will tell you:
-Who he’s chatting with online and what’s being said
-What websites he’s visiting
-Which files he’s downloading
-What pictures he’s looking at
-What’s in his emails to others and what’s being sent to him
-What his various passwords or pin numbers are
If you are worried about the trust factor in your relationship and have suspicions, you can run this program without his knowledge and it will report to you in an e-mail to whichever address you want, exactly what he’s doing. It can send this information to you at work or to a separate account and be picked up at another computer if you so desire.
If you have confronted him and he’s denied your allegations but you still feel like something’s not quite right, finding out what’s going on can either put your mind at ease or can give you the evidence you need to confront him and make a decision about your relationship.
If he’s not aware that you’re watching his online moves, he will behave naturally. If he’s trying to cover his tracks by clearing out his internet history or putting passwords on his programs, you can still find out what he’s really up to. Be sure that you are prepared for what you might find. The things a person searches for online or the things they say behind the safety and anonymity of the Internet can reveal startling facts about them. Finding out what your spouse is really doing when they think you are not watching can shock and surprise you. You can run this software to find this information out and then later remove it if you choose.

If you are responsible for a company’s computer network, you may need to install computer surveillance software. If you have children and are concerned about their Internet usage habits, you may also want to install surveillance or monitoring software. Those who feel the need to know their spouse’s computer habits can also easily find out what’s going on.
Businesses run on mission critical applications and computer security remains a top priority. Concern over what your employees may be doing online that could breach that security is a growing concern. Companies have the ability to also judge whether or not their employees are productive by monitoring what they’re doing without their knowledge.
If your marriage or relationship feels like it may be being jeopardized by things your spouse may be doing on the Internet, you may need to know for a fact what they are doing in order to get peace of mind or the truth to allow you to make a decision about the future of that relationship.
Computer monitoring software is a valuable tool that tracks every single keystroke on a computer. It can also take a snapshot of the screen as often as you command it to and send all this information in a neat and tidy e-mail report to you so you can review it and see exactly what’s happening.
Programs will run unobtrusively in the background of the computer you would like to monitor. This program hides in the background undetected and logs everything you tell it to. It can track down website usage, chat conversations, copies of every file, every password and every downloaded image. This program will send you the information as often as you wish without the knowledge of the person using that computer. This information could be valuable in helping you:
-Run your business
-Parent your children effectively and safely
-Know the truth about your marriage or relationship.
Companies who need details on their staffers’ habits can greatly benefit from this type of software that will tell them everything they need to know about who is productive and who is not and when unwelcome behavior occurs at the office.
This type of software will give you valuable information to deal with various problem situations and can easily be used from the novice right up to and including a technical person.

Are you wondering if your husband or boyfriend is cheating on you? If this is something that’s regularly on your mind, it can drive you half crazy. If you are plagued with suspicion because of the way your mate is acting and suspect that something is wrong, you are probably right. Trust your instinct and work to find out the truth.
If they are doing suspicious things and you suspect they’re being dishonest with you, you must get to the truth to either put your mind at ease or give you the information you need in order to confront them. Women whose husbands or boyfriends spent curiously long hours (especially late at night) using the computer can be suspicious. Those who cover their tracks by always cleaning out their temporary internet files and internet surfing history may be trying to hide something. Some men put passwords on everything including their screensaver so that you can’t see what they’re doing.
If your spouse or significant other is acting suspiciously with the computer, they may be doing something dishonest such as having an Internet based affair. They also could be spending their time looking at and downloading pornography. If you are consumed with curiosity about what they’re up to, you can find out, even if you’re not extremely technical.
Some think they have to be a trained computer hacker to find out what’s going on but there are simple software packages out there that can trace and track your mate’s computer habits and send you reports of exactly what they are up to. If you live together and have a shared computer, you can easily install this software and have it send you reports. If you don’t live together but can install it on your mate’s computer, it can send reports to any e-mail address you choose. You can find out what they’re downloading, what they’re looking at and who they are chatting with. You can see transcripts of every instant messaging conversation as well as receive copies of every e-mail on their computer. You can get results of online and offline activities including passwords. Programs can give you very basic reporting or advanced information as well.
If you are suspicious about his behavior, you have a right to find out if he’s being honest and faithful to you. There are tools to help and you don’t need a bachelor’s degree in computer science to get to the answers.

If you are new to web design and don’t know where to start, it is probably best that you devote some time initially in selecting the most appropriate web editor. The two most popular WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editors are Microsoft’s FrontPage and Macromedia’s Dreamweaver.
This leads to the often heated and delicate debate, “Which is the best editor?” Fortunately this article informs you of the pros and cons of both and the level of experience that is required. At this stage, I would like to make it clear that I am not an advocate for Microsoft or Macromedia and have substantial experience of using both web editors.
FrontPage Pros
Starting off with FrontPage, the latest version is 2003 and it has been built on top of the highly successful Microsoft Office suite. It benefits from having a similar appearance to Microsoft Word and many of the other Office based programs. The “non technical savv” will appreciate such a close resemblance and an easy-to-use menu system.
In fact FrontPage has many uses similar to a word processor. The functionality for inserting images, tables and formatting text are very similar. So the step-up from a well known word processor, to an equally well known web editor is not that big at all! FrontPage also has an abundance of ready to use templates, particularly useful for the novice user.
Dreamweaver Pros
Macromedia products have been designed specifically with web design in mind and Dreamweaver is the industry standard for web editors. Dreamweaver has a nice blend of advanced tools mixed in with a tasteful graphical user interface.
Dreamweaver 8, the most recent version, is part of the Macromedia Studio 8 suite. The tight integration between applications in the Studio is fantastic. Switching from Dreamweaver to another product such Fireworks, Flash and ColdFusion is an absolute “doddle” and a real time saver too!
Dreamweaver also enables you to build your own custom templates, allowing alterations to hundreds of pages to be made with one single change - great large web sites! It also has an awesome array of database utilities which makes creating dynamic pages a breeze.
Dreamweaver has an extensive collection of advanced tools and may at times be a little too complex for those who wish to merely edit pages. Fortunately, Macromedia Contribute is available and is part of the Macromedia Studio suite and enables easy website maintenance. “Non techies” can edit the content of pages, whilst the coding part of the page is protected - so no banana skins here!
FrontPage Cons
FrontPage’s simplicity and ease of use often generates lots of unwanted code which can be difficult to manage. It has been designed specifically for Internet Explorer (I.E.) and does not fully abide by the World Wide Web Standards. This means the web pages look perfect in I.E. but often slightly out of sync in other leading browsers such as Mozilla Firefox.
Another small hindrance of FrontPage is that web servers need FrontPage extensions to get some features to work.
Dreamweaver Cons
Dreamweaver is not as easy to use and may look a little foreign and intimidating to the novice user. The lack of beginner tools and usability may frustrate inexperienced users. Dreamweaver is also a little more pricey than FrontPage.
Conclusion
Dreamweaver is a professional level web editor. It has been designed to be used in a commercial environment and benefits from having advanced web design tools, is part of a great Macromedia suite, offers power database utilities and provides a wide range of e-commerce capabilities.
FrontPage on the other hand was intended for the average home user with a modest interest in web design. It is ideal for beginners and offers a range of special effects that will keep you busy for quite a while.
I think they both provide value for money and are aimed at different markets. The novice user will benefit from FrontPage, where as the professional web designer will require more advanced tools and is more likely to opt for Dreamweaver.
