Professional Tips On Writing Effective Articles

Article Marketing No Comments

Contrary to popular belief, you do not have to be a naturally talented writer to write effective and high quality articles. Whether you are writing articles for your blog, or other content site, or you are article marketing through a distribution service, there are secrets to effective article writing that can help you produce the kind of content you like. Remembering these tips when writing your articles will do for you what they have done for those who abide by them- help you produce professional-quality content while maximizing your time and effort.

The first thing you have to know about the rules of article writing is that there are no set rules to writing articles, except for one. That one rule is that your writing needs to be useful, informative, and grammatically correct. That is it. If an article follows those rules and those rules alone, your have greatly increased your chances of a click-through and increased potential business. Everything else is up to you and your creative genius to start writing those professional-quality articles.

The second thing you want to remember is that it is very important to keep articles short and informative. People are always rushing these days and they are not going to want to read thousand and thousands of words on an article about your specific keyword. The point is that you should give them a taste in about 400-600 words. That range is ideal because articles that look like college discourse will be snuffed in a hurry, and articles shorter than 300 words do not seem to be able to provide enough information and will deter readers. Four to six hundred words will allow you to effectively inform in a succinct manner. These articles are more effective because people will actually take the time to read them and helps peak their interest into following your link.

The third point to remember is that you must take care in creating your resource box. The resource box is not a place for you to give a biography on yourself. Its your opportunity to promote your business, without being too salesy. Your main focus in what to write is creating two sentences, separated by two lines that are one-sentence blurbs about sites. These sentences should inform the reader what the site offers in an attractive manner. Creating an effective resource box will allow you to maximize the number of click-through from interested readers, ideally increasing sales.

Finally, the most important thing you can do is to proofread your articles. This step, though it should only take a few minutes, is very important because the whole point of the article is to build credibility through a well-written, informative, and professional article. Following all of these points will help you focus on creating sound and quality content that builds relationships with readers and makes them more willing to find out more about what you have to offer. Over time, article writing can be a formidable force in drawing traffic to your site, or filling your site with solid content. Happy Writing.

Private Label Rights Articles Offer Many Advantages To Internet Marketers

Article Marketing No Comments

Private Label Rights Articles are a great way to make extra income while saving you a lot of time and effort. They are essentially articles for anyone to use and are meant to make life easier for you as a webmaster or internet marketer. Private Label Rights Articles are sold and along with the purchase you receive the right to rewrite or rework the articles and claim them as your own.

These articles are most often purchased in bulk and are not only a useful source of fresh ideas for raw content, but they can also be used to make money by reselling these rights yourself. They are a terrific source of content for your website or for an article marketing campaign and can be turned into longer reports and e-Books when they are combined.

These reports and e-Books can then be sold or offered as freebies in conjunction with other campaigns or product launches. These articles are all the rage at the moment and you can’t open your email inbox without someone wanting to sell or give you hundreds or even thousands of them at once. Private Label Rights Articles are usually written by qualified freelance writers and normally they will produce them in large quantities.

They then offer them to business owners along with the full rights of ownership. If you don’t feel like writing articles these are always a viable alternative and are a great way of adding search engine friendly content to your website. However you still need to rewrite these articles in order to have totally unique content on your website.

Content is king and PLR Articles allow you to fill up your pages with quality information while saving you hours and hours of work compared to the time it takes to write new material. You can use your name as the author and become an expert in your field. You can attract more traffic to your main pages using the articles as bait for the search engines.

They also allow you to setup a network of information sites linking back to your main page. You can use them to create filler content for squeeze pages that you intend to promote through Adwords. These inherent rights acquired through purchase allow you to change the content the way you see fit, rewrite the articles to make them more unique or create new ones out of several different articles.

You can create your own article directory or setup an autoresponder series for your opt-in page. These articles allow you to create Adsense sites, Blogs, free reports or e-books. You can also make audio files out of them and sell them on your website or simply add the files as new content.

PLR articles are one of the fastest ways to generate income from your website or online business and are a godsend for any internet marketer having trouble writing their own material. PLR articles are the choice weapon of the modern internet marketer and offer many advantages which include being a great resource for driving traffic and a great support mechanism for giving you the time necessary to get over creative slumps.

Writing a Great Resource Box for Your Articles

Article Marketing No Comments

Article marketing can work brilliantly or it can fail for many reasons. Sloppy writing of the article itself is one of the big reasons for failure. Poorly written resource boxes can also be the problem.

The resource box is the one place in the article where you don’t have to worry about being rejected just for including a link to your website and a little self promotion. That’s what it’s there for and that’s a part of what webmasters are supposed to include when they use your article. Otherwise you have the right to refuse them permission to reprint your article.

The resource box sounds pretty simple. Author name… check! URL… check! Promo… check!

You do have all of that, don’t you?

Let’s start with the author name. Use your real name, not the name of your business. People will feel more of a connection with a name rather than a faceless business. I don’t care how cute or how keyword stuffed your business name is. Use a real name.

Now on to the URL. Many sites allow you to have 2-3 links to your site. I personally only use two, because many webmasters don’t like how resource boxes look with more links. Just call it a personal preference.

My usual tactic, which you should be able to see in my resource box below, is to have at least one link as a plain URL. If the site permits HTML, the other will be linked through keyword text.

I do it that way because while the article site may allow HTML, sometimes people don’t copy things over correctly. A plain URL is at least visible even if only the plain text of the resource box makes it.

One thing I do not do is promote multiple sites within a single resource box. It doesn’t matter if both are related to the article; if I want to promote two related sites I will write an article for each. Definitely don’t throw in a link to an unrelated site.

Your promo should encourage visitors to visit your site and take action. You can try to build newsletter subscribers or send them to a sales page, offer a free report, etc. Have a goal in mind.

Do not write a long resource box. Some sites limit you to 300 characters, others to 500 or even more. The longer length is generally to allow for HTML. Don’t go off topic, don’t ramble on. A resource box should be short and to the point.

Your resource box should be an extension of your article. If you can use links that point to something relevant to both the article itself and the particular section of your website, you have things nicely focused, and that is to the benefit of the readers and your potential site visitors.

Writer’s Block Putting A Crimp In Your Campaign?

Article Marketing No Comments

Writer’s block –the inability to sit down and start writing –is a tough mountain to climb whenever you face it. And it can be even more difficult if writing is part of your article marketing campaign!

Writer’s block is a difficult challenge to conquer because there’s no set way to get rid of it. Oh, sure, you can find advice everywhere, and just about any :how to write” website will give you some hints and ideas. The problem is, it’s a very abstract, and often personal, problem and each writer has a different way of getting past it.

Based on what I’ve learned from my own experience, I’m happy to share these ideas to help you buckle down and get back to business.

The first thing to remember is to stay positive. You’re not going to get anywhere if you sit at your desk and dwell on the fact that the words just aren’t coming. It’s very easy to start panicking when the words won’t come, and your entire article marketing campaign is in the balance. Trust me, I know! However, keep in mind that good article writing, just like everything else in business, takes a bit of effort and is worth doing right.

Now that you’ve got your head around your project, make an outline. It’s a good idea — especially if you don’t consider yourself a professional writer — to draft a general outline of what you want to say in your article. For example, if you’re writing about finding a target market for your online marketing, you might want to start with three bullet points. One will talk about how to create a solid definition of your product, one about how to pinpoint the general demographic for your product, and finally one about finding keyword descriptions that are attractive to that demographic.

If this doesn’t get you moving, and sometimes it won’t, start talking to yourself. (It’s OK, no one’s listening.) Look at your outline and start telling yourself how you would approach item. If you’re used to talking to large groups of people, pretend that you’re giving a lecture on the topic. If you do better with small bits of info, try jotting words or phrases on post-in notes or index cards, then rearranging them. Soon, those notes and jots will start to flow together into a good solid article that people will want to read.

Another great way to get your thoughts to flow is by writing the facts. You feel that you’re qualified enough to write articles about your business; chances are you already know what you want to say. So, start putting your thoughts to paper and just ignore punctuation and flow. The point is to start writing. You’ll find that once you get yourself moving, the words will take care of themselves. Then when you’re finished, go back through for the cleanup and the final pizzazz.

I’ve found some great resources that helped me over that writing hump a couple of weeks ago. If you are writing articles for submission to article marketing services, you might want to check these out:

WritersDigest.com always has at least one writing prompt that will help crack writer’s block. This web site is designed for writers and includes easy, thought provoking tips. One recent prompt tells stuck writers to write outrageous headlines for 2007. These “no rules” prompts really get the creative juices flowing!

eFuse.com is geared toward creating tight, interesting website content. The site has a variety of helpful hints to get started. One writer talks about starting in the middle of a project rather than at the beginning. This is a great idea for people who can’t push through the first sentence.

ArticleMarketer.com has useful articles on just about every aspect of web writing, including writer’s block. A recent article gives advice contrary to eFuse and tells the writer to start at the very beginning by writing an inspiring headline! Writing the headline first might get you excited about the project. It might also serve as an article summary to help you stay within your writing parameters.

The great thing about these websites is that every one of them gives different advice. Rather than being confusing, this actually helped me write my articles. Some of the advice worked, some didn’t, and I bet it will be different for every article marketer. Reading all the advice, though, helped me understand that writer’s block is a real phenomenon, with real solutions. Do a little experimenting and figure out which writer’s block trick works the best for you!

So take some tips from the experts and put your thoughts down into information, content-rich articles for submission. You never know who might be by to read them!

Shorten Your Pathway to Financial Rewards…Create the Better Mousetrap

Article Marketing No Comments

If you build a better mousetrap, the world will beat a pathway to your door.

Historians believe this saying dates back to the 1400s, but today, Marketers realize that the similarities between history and the application of the analogy go hand-in-hand.

Marketers, for years, have looked for a perfect solution to connect clients with consumers in a foolproof way. They always believed this miracle elixir must offer specific information to consumers, creating an immediate need that must be satisfied.

Presto! Marketing has evolved to meet the need.

Advertising science addressed the linkage between clients and consumers, but did not offer immediate results which could be authoritatively measured. You might have sold more products, but analyzing the client who was watching/listening/absorbing your advertising did not offer a true scientific analysis. Once the study of demographics evolved to a management science, marketers were able to recognize who the target was, and clients could purchase advertising to appeal to a specific niche.

The growth process and evolution of radio, television, movies, and online digital media has now brought this connection full circle once again, we have the same type of one-on-one relationship originally existing between shopkeepers and customers. Do you think it unusual to compare the best marketing practices of today to sales techniques which have been around since the turn of the century? It only reminds us of the saying everything old is new, again.

What is the name of this modern miracle?

Article Marketing.

Write an article and tell your story, addressing your reader directly. Press Enter on your computer keyboard and watch the magic happen. Connect to your readers. Connect with your clients. Make this immediate connection that drives sales and profits.

Every Marketing class that has ever been taught in the world teaches differentiation. Showing your customers how your product or service is different has always been the target. For so long, we have not had the ability to connect directly with consumers, but we have told our marketing story through surrogates; funny stories, entertaining pictures, cute, musical jingles, Now, you have the opportunity to share with the customer exactly and directly what you want them to hear. You can cut out the middleman. They want to hear what you have to say. It is a true win-win.

Moreover, marketing news becomes real news for your buyers. What you have to say can be new, insightful, and create demand with your reader. Marketers do not want to just write; you want to have your material read, too.

When you use Article Marketing as your communications medium with your clients, the clients read what you say. Marketers get results, they drive links, traffic and search engine placements in a way that is fast and easy. And it is cost effective.

It is almost magic.

The painstaking and time-killing requirement of identifying buyer intentions is no longer of paramount importance. You know your buyer wants to hear what you will tell her, because she has told you so. Requirements for purchase probability studies are removed. Sales force approvals are always important and sales input as to what to say is probably reinforced even more critically in the sales process, as all parts of the sales chain can interconnect more clearly and more rationally.

Development of your brand equity becomes a simpler, more controlled process. By letting you know their needs, you can even go so far as to custom develop what the customer tells you she wants. If the customer is satisfied with the offer, you have made and kept your promise to her. The value of your brand equity increases. As the assets of your business and your offers increase in value, your sales to your customer will increase, and this, in turn, will generate more loyalty and word of mouth marketing.

What is the key to the success of using Article Marketing as your Marketing vehicle?

One must recognize of the fact that consumers are in control, and you must give them what they want. They will tell you what they want to see, and you will offer it to them. They control the offerings. You are not focused on what the packaging for your offering appears, or how it will fit on a store shelf; you are focused on making sure that you meet the consumer demand.

Finally, the aspect of image is strictly controlled through your Article Marketing efforts. You create a perception, and the article you develop creates a reality. The sale of the product or service satisfies the need of the consumer.

Several Article Marketing sites now offer some type of editing as a critical process, but I believe the best is now offered through ArticleMarketer.com.

Keep in mind that the words you write communicate your image and presentation. Most of us need editing to make our writing concise and powerful.

I have found that ArticleMarketer.com and the Diamond Assurance Review Process offers the best overall approach and helps me develop concepts and thoughts in a way which both protects my writing, and helps to communicate my message well.

Catering to Your Target Audience

Article Marketing No Comments

Conveying a specific message in a written article is no easy feat. Audience expectations fall on every point of the information spectrum. One of the biggest mistakes that article writers make is to try to accommodate too many readers. The more general an article becomes in order to meet the interests of a wide readership, the more focus it loses. This leads to an article that oftentimes appeals to no one at all. A small niche audience is always better than no audience at all.

The first step to writing an effective article is to determine who you are trying to reach. Once you pinpoint your audience, you can cater to their interests and needs. Similarly, in deciding your target audience, you must establish why this specific group of people will be interested in what you are writing about. This may require the writer to research the concerns and values of this group of people.

In deciding the issues that are most pertinent to your audience, be attentive to the best methods of communicating with this group. Choosing the type of language and the general structure of your article can be important choices in the process of effectively reaching customers. In the same way your vocabulary may slightly change from a professional setting to a social environment, you will want to consider whether you should use a more serious or casual tone. While an overtly scholarly vocabulary sounds educated to one group, it sounds pretentious to another. Know the general perceptions of your target audience and you will more easily communicate with them.

Upon determining how to convey your message, you must determine what exactly that message is. Have a clear idea of what you are trying to say before you begin writing. Articles that wander from topic to topic with no precise goal tend to lose the interest of readers before they get past the second paragraph. Make a concise point in the initial paragraphs and use the rest of the article to solidify that point.

Providing examples is one of the most effective ways of backing up your message. These examples can include fabricated anecdotal stories or real life events. Writers will oftentimes use highlighted events in the media with which almost any reader will be familiar. If you do choose to utilize stories from real life events, make sure you consult valid sources for accurate information.

Sometimes such an example can serve as an important cohesive element in your article that helps tie everything together. Establishing a slogan or common thread that is referenced throughout the article makes for a more interesting article. Whether it is a real life example you continue to come back to, or a buzz word that is used in multiple forms throughout the article, a repeated concept will help hold your article together.

Another way in which your article gains credibility is through the process of fact checking and editing. You must avoid spelling and grammatical errors in order to appear educated and knowledgeable. In the same way, you will also want to make sure your facts and figures; you may very well be asked to provide solid evidence to support your message.

Such accountability is dependent on both your audience and the places in which your article is published. Some readers will be more attentive than others. Potential publishers are as important to keep in mind when writing as potential readers. The publishers know their audience; you will want to adjust your writing style to appeal to the publishers you are targeting as well as your end reader.

While it takes time to ponder these various considerations related to the writing process, you will find they will help your article achieve a higher level of success. Write directly to your readers and they will hear you. This is the best way to see your articles gain recognition and respect amongst your target audience.

Backlinking Your Way To Online Success

Article Marketing No Comments

Back in the “old” days of a couple of years ago, search engine optimization (SEO) was all about keywords. Repeat the same phrase fifty times on your homepage and your site would pop up when that phrase was searched in Google. Thankfully for consumers and entrepreneurs alike, the search engines have wised up to such practices. With the creation of more detailed and precise algorithms, Google has come up with better ways to highlight the most relevant and trusted websites.

Just Because You Build It…
Creating a beautiful website with groundbreaking information does not guarantee high site traffic. Once the website is ready to be unveiled to the public, it is time to begin a serious marketing campaign to attract the eyes and ears of interested consumers. The best way to get this kind of exposure is to rank high in the search engine results pages (SERPS), and the best way to climb in the SERPS is to build backlinks.

Backlinking to Your Site
A “backlink” is a link from a website that leads readers back to your website. Sometimes it is a highlighted link in the middle of an article. In other cases, it may be the link in your Resource Box, at the end of an article you have written. When that article is distributed and published on other sites, the link leads readers back to your site.

The importance of backlinking can’t be over-emphasized. When a backlink to your web site from a popular and relevant site is created, Google tags a date to it, and records the actual phrase used in the link. Google then saves this information in order to establish rankings.

Getting the Most Out of Backlinks
It’s important to understand that backlinking is more about quality than quantity. The search engines operate under the assumption that not all links hold equal weight, and a backlink (also known as an “inbound link”) from a highly popular or well known site has more clout than a link from your Uncle Ted’s garden photos.

Here’s what Google has to say about how it uses backlinks to determine your page rank:

“PageRank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page’s value. In essence, Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. But, Google looks at more than the sheer volume of votes, or links a page receives; it also analyzes the page that casts the vote. Votes cast by pages that are themselves ‘important’ weigh more heavily and help to make other pages ‘important’.”

So while having every member of your extended family create a link to your website from their own sites might be a great way to keep Aunt Alice up to speed, it won’t get you much love from the search gods.

How to Get Other Sites to Link to Yours
So you know how Google uses backlinks to come up with its search engine rankings. You also know that backlinks on popular, respected sites will boost your SERPS. Now the question is: how do I get those sites to link to my site?

Article marketing is an incredibly effective way to do this. When you create informative, unique content in the form of reprintable articles, websites pay attention. Plenty of well-established websites publish content from article marketing databanks, to constantly offer their site visitors fresh information. When one of these sites, or any of their visitors, publishes one of your articles, an automatic link back to your website is included and bingo, a backlink is born.

Distribute more and more articles around the Web, and you gain a steady stream of fresh, highly relevant backlinks over time. The search engines will notice, and you page rank will go up. It’s that simple.

And higher search engine ranking means more eyeballs on your website. Link simple.

How Anyone Can Succeed With Article Marketing

Article Marketing No Comments

Having a day job is a real drag, don’t you agree? I know I’d rather sleep in, work from home for four or five hours and then go out and play my blues guitar until the wee hours!

I might have stumbled across the opportunity I’ve been waiting for. I’m actually already on my way making it happen, just by writing articles like this one. The idea is simple and brilliant. It’s the wave of the future and everybody’s talking about it. It’s called article marketing.

If you have a website (I have a bog), all you have to do is start writing about your business. Then, once you’ve written a couple of articles that someone will want to read (this is important), you distribute them to content sites that will publish your articles, such as e-zines, content sites and newsletter publishers. They provide your articles for other people to grab and use on their sites for free. There is money in it for you — don’t worry!

Here’s where the magic happens. You write an “about the author” box, sometimes called a resource box, that you attach to the bottom of each article. This is where you put your link. When people online start to publish your insightful, informative or just plain funny writing on their websites, they are also publishing a link back to you!

What does this accomplish, you ask? Well, think about it this way. Your standing on search engines like Yahoo! and Google are dependent upon the number of links that exist back to your website. When I started, I didn’t even show up in a Google search when I looked for my name in quotes! Nobody else is going to find me if I can’t even find myself.

Now that sounds almost like existential philosophy, my friends. I’m using that gem again!

Anyway, after writing only two articles, I’m beginning to get a trickle of hits on my blog every week. People are finding me! At first, it’s the small victories that really make me smile. Admittedly it’s not much — not yet — but like any new business endeavor, article marketing requires a little effort and patience before it starts to work overtime for you.

Do you have a website? That’s the first and most important step. Without one, article marketing won’t do much for your page rank — or any rank at all! It’s easy to set up a free blog using Blogger or any number of other free programs out there. I’m no techie and I didn’t have to use any code, so don’t be scared.

Next, can you write about your business? Maybe you sell wacky shoes online. You can write about a customer you had who sent back her pair six times because they were the wrong size. You can write about working with distributors. You can even give people advice about how to start their online shoe business. Anything you can think of, as long as it’s well-written, around 750 words or so and keeps the reader interested until they get to your resource box that holds your link.

Believe it or not, it’s not that hard to do. I’ve set a goal: I will write two articles a day until I start to see some real hits (and maybe even show up on a search engine or two!!) and generate a steady stream of traffic.

Article marketing is a proven system that works if you put in just a little time. I find that writing an article takes me about an hour, and that’s with several read-throughs because I’m a perfectionist. Realistically, you can write between 500 and 750 words in 30 minutes if you just write about a topic you know.

Since I’m learning about article marketing, I’m writing about that. But the possibilities are endless. I’ve seen articles about hot air balloons, Chinese medicine — even taking care of exotic pets! Use your imagination.

Is there a topic you’ve been curious about but never had an impetus to learn? This is the perfect time to inform yourself and then teach others what you know. After all, they say teaching someone is the best form of self-education, right?

In that vein, I hope to have inspired you to start your own online marketing campaign. It’s easy and affordable (it’s free if you do it yourself!) and you will see a difference almost immediately in increased traffic, improved search engine results positioning and (eventually) sales of your product or service. That’s the bottom line.

5 Proven Ways to Boost Your Website Traffic Through Article Marketing

Article Marketing No Comments

The most effective way to send instant traffic to your new website and boost your search engine rankings is through Article Database Marketing.

This internet marketing method is mostly low maintenance or does not have to cost you a red cent if you are prepared to spend more time submitting your articles. I personally prefer to spend a few dollars to have my articles submitted on auto-pilot but I understand that not everyone is in that financial position.

Here are 5 ways that article marketing can boost your traffic and significantly increase your earnings:

1. You subbmit your article to the major article databases and a visitor to one of these sites clicks the link in your article database which leads directly to your product page.

2. A visitor to one of the databases uses your article for their website or newsletter content. To do this they are required to keep your resource box intact when reposting the articles on their own pages. A visitor to THEIR site then clicks a link in your resource box. This traffic can really add up over time as your article appears on more and more websites. The success of your article will depend on the quality of the writing, the subject at hand and the size of your target market.

3. You submit an auto-responder email link in your resource box which captures the prospects email address. These emails links are usually incentivised by offers of a free report or download. You now have another addition to your mailing list and any mailings going out to this prospect will of course have links back to your site. This is a great way to build longterm traffic as will the following steps.

4. The more articles submitted the higher your search engine rankings will increase. Always use your important targeted keywords as the linking text in the resource box of your article. This will greatly improve the positioning of your sites in the major search engines for your chosen keywords. Keep the number of links in your resource box to one or two.

5. Many of the major article sites like Ezinearticles and Goarticles have magnificent Page Ranking(PR) in Google, Yahoo and other search indexes so any articles submitted to their databases are quickly snapped up by the search engines. It is not unusual to see your article pages at the databases getting top rankings for just having submitted it. Choose your article title keywords carefully. So, traffic can come straight from the search engines to your article on the databases thus increasing your link visibility and eventually, overall traffic.

These are just a few of the ways that article marketing can provide a welcome boost in website traffic. There are many others but just looking at these you can see that only a fool would miss out on this chance to increase web traffic and subsequently their overall monthly income.

How to Increase Traffic to Your Website

Article Marketing No Comments

In the old days (10 years ago), building a website and submitting it to the major directories and search engines was enough to ensure a steady flow of traffic to your website. With only Google and Yahoo surviving the search engine wars, marketing a website has truly become a science.

Keyword-rich meta-tags that Altavista loved, or the doorway pages that fooled many search engines, no longer ensure your site will be near the top of the rankings. In fact, they may get you banned altogether.

So how do you rank high in search engines without using these previously successful methods? If you have lots of money you can buy your way in. You can bid on keywords and search terms, and pay Google, Yahoo, or another directory every time someone clicks on your paid link.

Since most of us don’t have that kind of money, let’s consider another method: Almost-free advertising. Almost-free advertising is a form of website promotion that often requires a lot of time, but requires little or no money.

One of the best ways to promote your site and yourself is to write about something you know about or are interested in. You don’t have to be a literary scholar or a journalism graduate to get started. Start by writing a short 400 - 600 word article in an area of interest to you. This will potentially be read by thousands of people, so you should check your facts, spelling, and grammar before publishing it.

Once your article is ready to publish, you can submit it, for free, to a number of article directories on the web. After your article is approved, it will be published in these directories. So how does this increase traffic to your website? You place a link to your website in the “About the Author” section of the article. Now you have an unpaid, but high-quality link to your website which a visitor or a search engine can follow.

The more times you do this, the more targeted links you have pointing to your website. This helps increase your position in search engine results, and is completely acceptable to them. The key is to get many quality articles published in high-traffic directories. The higher the Google Page Rank of the directories linking to you, the higher your total page rank becomes.

This is a much better method for gaining links to your site, than using “link farms” and automatic link generating systems. These methods can often be detected by the search engines which treat them as spam. By publishing your own articles, you are positioning yourself as an expert in your field, and adding unique content to the web - all while increasing targeted traffic to your website.

Go With the Flow Of The Ever-Changing Market

Article Marketing No Comments

Is your company ready to pounce on trends and shifts in your industry? When you spot those trends, will you be poised to make new connections with customers?

With article marketing, you can quickly take advantage of changing market trends by simply adjusting the type of article you are writing.

Adjusting to Changing Interests
Your company’s marketing focus can often take unexpected twists and turns. This is often the result of new interest from a segment of the market that you don’t currently reach. When a product that was originally intended for one audience becomes a must-have idea to another, you’ve hit upon a unique marketing moment.

This natural, organic expansion of your customer base is truly a significant market opportunity.

This type of scenario often takes place with a major societal or environmental change. A service that was once used by a few suddenly becomes necessary for many. For instance, after a major flood, homeowners in other regions are suddenly more interested in purchasing flood insurance. An on-the-ball insurance company will be ready to answer their questions and concerns with well-written, informative articles on where and how to qualify for flood insurance programs.

Demand also shifts because of popular trends. Those wingtip shoes that are a staple for the executive set suddenly become cool for teenage girls after a major pop star is spotted wearing them on the red carpet. The savvy shoe company will adjust its marketing campaign and find ways to appeal to the younger generation.

The Adaptive Marketing Plan
The beauty of article marketing, unlike traditional television and print advertising, is that marketing plans can be adjusted almost immediately. It’s as simple as writing a new article. And with an unlimited subscription to an article distribution service such as Article Marketer, there is no additional cost. Let me repeat that — no additional cost to target an entirely new market niche.

By going with the ebb and flow of the market, a company is in a better position to take advantage of these unexpected marketing opportunities. This point is critical to making your company an effective trend marketing machine. Spot a trend, write an article, and capture that moment of perfect relevance.

This kind of “on the fly” marketing can fit in beautifully with your current article marketing plans. Experts recommend submitting two articles per category per week for maximum impact and greatest exposure. Keep a close ear to the heartbeat of popular trends in your particular industry, and be able to spot trends and identify potential changes at a moment’s notice.

If you see a new niche for your company, begin a new article marketing campaign. This plan may be used alongside or in place of your current plan, depending on the circumstances. Ideally, double your article writing efforts to cater to both groups!

Always keep an open mind when it comes to your article marketing plan. The free market can be erratic and full of surprises. This is what makes owning a business so exciting! And, it’s what makes article marketing such an effective, and affordable, way to keep on top of the market.

Google PageRank and Web Site Backlinks

Article Marketing No Comments

One of the most hotly disputed topics in the world of web site promotion is the methods used to increase the PageRank (PR) of a given web site. PageRank is one of the methods Google uses to determine web page relevance and importance for a given search term.

The PageRank of a website or web page is determined by link analysis algorithms that are different for each search engine. Larry Page, one of the co-founders of Google describes a page’s PR as “the sum of all things pointing to it” (Vise 2005).

Google PageRank can vary from 0 (the lowest) to 10 (the highest) for a given web page. If you have a Google Toolbar installed in your web browser, you can see the PageRank of each page that you visit. PageRank is almost solely determined by the number and quality of links pointing to and from your web pages. Of course, you can control the choice of pages you link to, but you require links pointing back to your pages from desirable web sites.

Sheer quality of links is not enough. Indeed, receiving too many links from undesirable web sites can decrease the importance of your web pages. While the PR algorithm is very complex, the basic idea is easy to understand.

The PR of a given page is the result of (quantity x PR) of inbound links versus (quantity x PR) of outbound links. Increasing backlinks to your site is the only way to increase PR. The best way of increasing your PR is to decrease the number of outbound links to pages with low PR and to increase the number of inbound links with high PR.

Content is king. If you provide unique, useful content that is updated often, people and website spiders will visit your site often and you may even get some free one-way links. The holy grail of backlinks is unsolicited praise along with a link to your site. This comes by way of blog, review, or website forum. These are great to get, but you don’t have a lot of control over who writes what.

SEO experts tout the importance of reciprocal linking. This is a long and arduous process that requires you to find websites with similar content that don’t compete with you directly, and then trading links with them to improve your PR (hopefully). This is an established marketing method that requires time and patience, but it works well.

Another great way to increase backlinks to your site is to write and distribute short articles to ezines and article directories. Many of the content publishers are free to submit to, and often have great turnaround time. You can write an article and have it show up in high PR directories in less than a day! Of course you want to submit to categories that are relevant to the content of your website. If you have a website about classic cars and car parts, you could write an article about auto maintenance tips.
While no solution is perfect for everyone, you should experiment with different forms of promotion and search engine optimization. Web site promotion is more important than ever. Increasing the number of quality links to your website is necessary to ensure that your quality content will be found by your target audience.

Writing Articles Is a Low Cost or a No Cost Marketing Method

Article Marketing No Comments

Writing articles can be done on a totally free basis.

1. To market articles for free, you need to write them yourself

2.You then need to submit the articles manually to article directories. If you are on a tight budget this certainly works, but it is time consuming.

A better way is to write keyword rich articles yourself and submit through a service.

1. An article submission service can be found for free. This gives less distribution than the paid service, but still gives decent circulation to a variety of sites and is much faster than doing it yourself.

2. A paid service is even better, because you get much wider circulation. Some things are worth paying for.

Whether you use a free or a paid service to submit the articles you write, it will greatly free up your time. That way you write the article once, and it is submitted to many article directories for you. With the time you save on submissions, you can be writing more articles.

So what makes article writing such a good method of marketing?

On the Internet almost everyone who has a website or newsletter is looking for more content. Your article could be fulfilling that need. You submit the article to a directory, and a newsletter editor or website owner may take your article and post the article in their newsletter or on their website. Since your resource box must be included with a link to your website this can bring you traffic and backlinks.

Getting more backlinks to your website will raise your ranking in the search engines, which will bring you even more traffic. Articles have become one of the very best ways to promote your website.

Writing articles is probably the best way to get your website indexed. The search engines prefer to find websites by following links. Your article posted on several websites will give them a trail to follow. Each of these links counts as a vote for your website.

Go to an article directory and select the title of an article and type it into a search engine and see how many instances come up. This will give you some idea of the power of article writing.

The search engines change their criteria on a regular basis. Many methods of promotion that once worked have lost their punch, or could even cause problems, but article marketing is still a good marketing method, and probably will be for a long time.

There are many things you can do with articles once you have them written. Articles can be recycled in many ways to your benefit, so keep copies of articles you’ve written. You may find many new ways to use them in the future.

Once you have a few articles, you could even start your own article directory as a section of your website.

Article writing is a valuable way to get exposure for your website, increase the credibility of your website, bring traffic, and get more backlinks.

How to Make $1200 Every Month Writing Articles? - Simple Numbers Game

Article Marketing No Comments

In this article I will give you a simple game plan, when executed, can make you upto $1200 and much more every month by just writing articles.

Is it easy, effortless and will it require time and money?

First let me answer these questions before getting started.

Yes it is easy but it does require some initial cut throat efforts from your part.

Yes, it will require some time every day to execute this plan but it is almost free. It will not cost you a dime after some initial setup.

So how to execute this system. This system is based on my initial testing and it has a viral effect that will build up a strong foundation of your internet business for lifetime, once you have put some initial efforts.

And yes, this system is also based on duplication. Example 1 article gets x visitors so 10 articles will get 10x visitors and 10x sales.

Thats what I am about to show you. If this system is executed based on the duplication system then making money using this system is a numbers game.

Ok Murtuza, it’s enough, now please show me the system, I can hear you saying.

This is not something you have never heard about.

It is a simple game plan. The reason that I have boiled this down into a step by step process is that maximum people fail in article marketing because they are not consistent enough and they never have a clue as to what is happening with their articles, they are not tracking them enough to get the numbers.

Now I will show you exactly what you need to do and how to play the numbers game.

Step 1 - I am sure you have something to sell right now that you want to promote using articles. Whether it may be your own product or any affiliate product. If you don’t have it, find one hot selling product right now.

Step 2 - Write a killer article in your niche. It’s simple to write articles, you will find many articles and ebooks showing you how to write a simple article.

It’s not difficult. Frankly I never follow any steps while writing articles, I just write as if I am speaking to a friend sitting next to me and explaining him a particular topic.

Think it that way and I bet it will be extremely easy for you to churn out killer articles at rocket speed.

Step 3 - Find out a killer article distribution service. I personally use ‘Article Marketer’ to distribute my articles.

There are many softwares and services in the market and some are free. Check out a killer article distribution service or a software right now.

Step 4 - Get in place a link tracking and a ROI ( Return On Investment ) tracking system.

You will need this to determe the conversion ratio of your website and track the visitors coming to your website through your articles.

I personally use ‘Ad Track Z’ to track my website conversion rates.

Once you have a tracking system in place, insert your tracking link in the resource box of your article. This will help you to track visitors pouring into your website through your article.

Step 5 - Now keep a watch as to what is happening behind the scenes. Write 10 articles and submit it to article distribution service. Check out your tracking system next few days. Lets say each article got you 20 visitors, so you received 200 visitors by submitting 10 articles.

Your website conversion ratio is 2%, therefore you sold 2 products each making you $30 net profit. So you made a total of $60 profits by writing and submitting 10 articles.

This simply means that 1 article made you a net profit of $6. This is the number that you should track down. What is the net profit that each article is giving you?

Now it is simple math. Doing x work you make y profits. So doing 2x work you should make 2y profits.

Writing 1 article made you $6 profits. If you write 100 articles you will make $600 profits.

And if you write 200 articles every month, you will make $1200 profits.

My main goal in this article is to explain you that tracking and planning can make you print your checks every month in this game of internet marketing.

It is simple, making money online or by article marketing is a SIMPLE numbers game.

How To Profit With Article Marketing

Article Marketing No Comments

Article Marketing is one of the best ways to get targeted traffic to your website. The secrets of a successful campaign can be broken down into these points:

1. The topic of your article

If your article’s topic is a hot topic, there should be many webmasters that will use your article as his/her website content. This eventually will increase targeted traffic to your website.

However, if your target readers cannot be reach by an article with hot topics, then you should try to blend hot topics with your own topic.

For example, you are targeting people who are looking for ‘Alternative Medicine’. In this case, maybe you could blend ‘bankruptcy with alternative medicine’ with an article with title like this.

“It doesn’t take a bankruptcy to get yourself cured”

Provided, ‘bankruptcy’ is a hot topic, which is hunted by many webmasters.

It’s a pretty plain title, but I just want to show you an easy to understand example.

In this article you could talk about how expensive health care can be, or about how it could lead people to acquiring loan or self-bankruptcy. And then, you can explain about alternative medicine that will not cost you a fortune.

Please bear in mind that many webmasters publish other people’s article in order to get revenue from PPC ads. Since the most well-known PPC ads is Google Adsense, then you should test what kind of ads your article shows. In case, of the article above, you want your article to show ads about bankruptcy or loan (which has a high PPC value) instead of alternative medicine.

2. The quality of your article

There are two factors that determine the quality of your article:

a. How much it benefits your readers.

This is related to the content of the article itself. Write something that gives valuable information to your reader.

Bear in mind that if your readers feel that they got valuable information by reading your article, then you’ve actually pre-sold them. By this time, they are hot enough to get another promotion of whatever products you have.

b. How much it benefits your article’s publishers.

This related to what kind of PPC ads your article shows and/or how it can be used as part of SEO. You can increase this quality factor by increasing the condense of high-paying keywords.

3. The quality of article directories where you submit your article

Webmasters usually finds articles at a well-known article directories. Submitting to the right article directories will bring difference to your article marketing campaign.

4. The quantity of article directories where you submit your article

As you submit your article to many articles directories, the chance that your article will be picked up by another webmasters will increase.

Keep in mind all the secrets I have just shared with you when you are conducting your article marketing campaign. The success will follow.

How You Can Really Profit From Article Marketing

Article Marketing No Comments

Article Writing can benefit you in many ways. It can drive traffic to your site, it can establish you as an expert and it can pre-qualify your visitors. In fact, it’s one of the most productive and beneficial things you can do.

Writing and submitting articles is a technique used by many people to build huge quantities of back links to their websites boosting their link popularity and search engine rankings. It will, if done consistently, provide a continuous flow of qualified visitors for you.

If content is King then what value is quality content?

You don’t even have to write the article yourself but once you start writing articles it is enjoyable and informative.

Remember there are only 3 steps to successful Article Marketing.

1. Decide what to write about and research your subject. It helps if you have a passion or at least knowledge of the article topic. Bear in mind that it is not always possible to write for niches unless you are clued up on their special language. For example, surfers have their own lingo. If you are not clued into this don’t try to appear as an expert.

2. Write, out source, or find an article on your subject.

3. Promote the Article, ensuring you have an anchor text link back to your site.

This may appear simplistic but essentially this is all there is to article marketing. The theory is easy but why most people can’t make a success of article marketing is because they are not consistent in producing and submitting their articles.

Consider these encouraging facts:

Fact 1. Articles drive traffic to your site. Articles, once submitted correctly, drive traffic in a number of ways.

Firstly, people who read your article and find it informative will click through directly to your site to read more of your articles.

Secondly, the Article often ends up online, at multiple locations, and will get picked up by the various search engines. This is not just the big 3 but loads of the smaller ones will index your article as well. If you have researched your keywords effectively you will definitely receive click throughs from these other SE’s.

Your Article also has a good chance of being used by eZine editors and list owners. Remember the smaller the niche the more chance you have of being published as people will be hungry for information.

Fact 2. Articles can establish you as an Expert if carefully researched so the content is relevant.

If you have a string of Articles detailing, for example, Dog Training, people will automatically begin to see you as an authority on this subject.

You’re not limited to writing articles just on Dog Training though. You could have Articles on weather forecasting, beach casting, cats or whatever.

Fact 3. You don’t need to be an expert writer to succeed.

You can get ready written articles which have Private Label Rights. This means you can call the article your own, edit it and generally do whatever you like with it. This may sound easy and the guys selling the PLR articles make it look too good to be true but it is definitely worth reading more on this subject as it is possible to do yourself more harm than good.

You can also out source the article writing to ghost writers. It can be as cheap as $5 per article but you still need to know exactly what to ask for. It’s no good saying “giving me an article on, whatever”. You must be very specific on subject, title, keywords, keyword density and you generally have to supply resources for the ghost writer to refer to.

Sometimes by the time you have collected the resources and other article information you may as well have written the article yourself however most ghost writers are definitely gifted and if time is short on your part then this is the way to go.

So,

The Bottom Line Is That Article Marketing Is Very Effective.

This is just a short introduction to article marketing giving you some basic background knowledge. Research it further and come up with a game plan that works for you.

Writing Articles to Increase Traffic to Your Website

Article Marketing No Comments

The most inexpensive way to get traffic to your website is by writing keyword rich articles and submitting them to article directories. Keep in mind that keyword rich does not mean low quality. You need to be sure that your article not only has the keywords that you want but also has quality content. The reason this is an inexpensive way to get traffic is because the only cost involved in writing articles is the time that you put into it, unless of course you pay someone to write the articles for you.

The first place people go to look for information is the internet. People search for information on the internet every day. When a keyword is typed in the search box of a search engine, the search engine will display a list of websites containing that keyword. Writing articles will put you in the search engines more quickly. These articles, therefore, will help to increase the traffic to your website.

Keep in mind that “content is king.” If your article does not have the quality content that the person is searching for, they will keep searching and will not go to your website. The more pertinent information you put into your articles, the more likely that person will be to visit your site and ultimately make a purchase.

By writing high quality content articles, you are letting people know that you have knowledge about the product you are selling and want to help them by sharing that knowledge. People are more inclined to buy from the person who makes them feel the most confident, and knowledge builds confidence. Just remember that “content is king” and so make your articles as informative and full of quality content as possible and you will earn their confidence.

The likelihood of your website being crawled by the search engines increases by the number of articles that you submit to the article directories. Be sure to submit your articles to two or more article directories. At the end of your article you will want to insert a resource box that includes your byline and a link to your website. Always post your articles on your website along with one or two articles that you have not submitted to the article directories. This will provide unique information for the search engines to crawl and will help your search engine position.

The websites that use your articles will be providing one way backlinks to your site from the URL you listed in your resource box. You will also obtain one way backlinks to your website from the article directories when they post your article on their site. Your website will obtain traffic from these backlinks.

Just remember, the higher in quality content your articles are, the more the search engines will like your site when they are crawled. The more the search engines like your site, the higher your site will rank in the search engines. The higher you rank in the search engines, the more traffic will come to your site. This will all lead to more sales and profit for you.

Article Directories - The Basics

Article Marketing No Comments

Each article has the owners byline placed under it so that those who eventually read the article will know who wrote it (or at least who owns it) and will be able to get in contact with or visit their website for further information.

Articles directories are a great place to put your articles so that they will make you money. By using this method, people who are interested in your product or service will see your article, view you as an expert in the subject, and will visit your website. Even if you cannot write or do not have any knowledge on the subject in which you are promoting you can always hire a writer to do the work for you. Getting quality articles written will be expensive up front, but they will pay for themselves in no time, either through affiliate sales or selling your own services, and everything from then on is pure profit.

Lets take a real life example. Imagine that you are an accountant working from home. You write an article on an accounting topic and place it on various article directories. Those who are looking for the subject you wrote about will read your article, see that you have the knowledge and skill that is needed to do a job for them, and visit your website or contact you via e-mail. Your article just gained you a new client who may use your services regularly, but will definitely give you a nice profit at least once.

Furthermore, since you have posted it on a free article directory, others who have affiliate websites about accounting will inevitably use your article for their website. Since they must attach your byline to it, this will bring you even more exposure for every website that re-posts your article. This because you will be benefiting off the traffic that they get to their website. Not only will you get traffic from the actual articles, you will also get higher rankings from the search engines when their robots find more and more links pointing to your site.

There are numerous article directories out there for you to utilize. Your best bet is to put a copy of each of your articles on every one for maximum exposure. It will eventually help to bring more traffic and customers to your website, which will lead to new orders and more profit. You may want to spread out distribution though. It is good to submit one article to a few directories a day. This is because major search engines like to see natural link growth.

Following these guidlines, allways do the right thing and have fun doing it and your websites will prove to generate loads of money for you and your family to enjoy for years to come.

How You Can Really Profit From Article Marketing - Research And Writing

Article Marketing No Comments

OK. You have decided to write an article. It should be something you are passionate about or at the very least have some knowledge of the subject.

Let’s go into some depth about researching the substance of your article.

RESEARCHING YOUR SUBJECT

If you are passionate and know enough about the article subject you will probably be able to write a 700 - 1000 word article in less than 30 minutes.

Once you have chosen your niche start using the search engines to get a feel for the information that’s being returned for your search phrases.

Visit some article directories, (use the term “article directories” in Google to find plenty), and do a search of these article directories to see what information other authors are submitting.

Check out Forums to see what questions people are asking then write an article with the information they are seeking. Give people what they want.

If you wish you can go down the road of researching articles and posts on newsgroups, Google / Yahoo groups, CNN, BBC and so on but to be honest this will probably result in too much information and you will never get an article written.

(It is handy to keep a small notebook and pencil with you to jot down ideas when they occur. Great ideas always occur when we don’t have a pencil which is why we are not millionaires just yet!)

Writing your Article

You Can:

1. Write it yourself.

2. Out source your article to a ghost writer

3. Use Private Label Rights (PLR) articles

Here we go.

1. Write it yourself.

The majority of people will immediately say “I can’t write”. This is utter nonsense. People may be a little apprehensive or just plain afraid to put pen to paper for others to see but just about anyone can write an article about something they know.

It’s all about comfort zones and if we are not prepared to expand our comfort zones just because we feel somewhat awkward then nothing will ever get done. So just remember you CAN write articles so get writing.

Make sure you are providing quality content. A mistake some folks make is to write adverts for their affiliate products with a link to buy. If you have given the reader a quality article they will start to trust you and eventually buy from you.

Articles are written to:-

1. Directly inform the reader through quality content and
2. Indirectly sell to the reader.

The sales part is through your resource or bio box. This is worth spending some time on as apart from wanting your readers to visit your website you also want the search engines to index the links back to your site. These links are hugely important as they carry a lot of weight with Google.

So you now have the article written with quality content. Let’s look at the resource box and anchor text links.

Try to give your readers some reason to click on the links in your resource box. If they have enjoyed your article and want more information then that is a good reason. Let them know that you do have more for them but they will have to go to your website.

Anchor Text Link

It is not possible to show you the exact html as tags are not generally allowed in article bodies but my resource box is an example of anchor text and you can always use the view source function of your browser.

If possible also use a straight http:// link as sometimes the anchor text html is not allowed or not recognized by some article directories.

2. Out Source Your Article

There are numerous sites dedicated to outsourcing - Scriptlance and Elance are probably the best known. These are not just for article writing but you can hire the services of a Pro for just about anything you want.

Note: When I say Pro be careful because there are sharks around. Always deal with the writer through the site and if asked to make an outside payment through E-gold then back off as you will probably never see your money again.

It can be as cheap as $5 per article but you still need to know exactly what to ask for. It’s no good saying “giving me an article on …”. You must be very specific on subject, title, keywords, keyword density and you generally have to supply resources for the ghost writer to refer to.

Sometimes by the time you have collected the resources and other article information you may as well have written the article yourself.

Check the feedback of people you intend to hire and consider that cheapest is not always best. You may be able to secure a more cost effective per article price if you want 10 or more articles written around the same theme.

3. Use Private Label Rights (PLR) articles

I am not convinced that this is really of any use at all. The “experts” are making a big deal of this at the moment and flogging off PLR packages left right and center for next to nothing… actually you can actually download PLR articles and products for free just by giving your email address.

In my experience the articles are sub standard and I would be ashamed to post them for review to a human editor. Of course you are meant to alter the articles so they magically become unique to avoid any perceived duplicate content penalties from the search engines but in all honesty the time spent changing these “articles” could be better spent doing your own research.

If you haven’t tried PLR take an article and run it through Copyscape.com. Now see how long it will take for you to make a unique article.

You can buy software to transform a rubbish article into thousands of “unique articles” in seconds. Again, I am not convinced. The whole process reeks of cheating or, at best, is morally suspect and it definitely is not giving the reader quality content which is what I thought writing articles was meant to be about. Should I find a good PLR system I’ll write an article on it.

You can however get some ideas for niches and the articles can at least give you a starting point for writing.

Marketing To The Masses Through Article Distribution

Article Marketing No Comments

Have you ever considered submitting articles to get your marketing message out and/or drive traffic to your websites…?

Here are some ideas and tips that can get you started:

Use article distribution services to get your articles in ezines. Some services will specifically distribute your articles to ezine owners who desperately need good content, but do not want to create it themselves. If your article gets selected for even a few of these ezines, you will receive a considerable traffic spike.

Always include quantifiable benefits when writing an ezine article, and actually tell the truth. For instance, if you say ‘make $1000 in 10 days’ people will actually be interested in that and believe it is possible at the same time. Distorting or massively exaggerating the benefits wont help at all; it will make the article look like a scamand an attempt to mislead more than anything else.

Your prospects will appreciate your honesty and through time will come to trust your judgement and recommendations

Become a special report provider for ezine owners. Offer to give them monthly reports that contain exclusive or limited, distribution content. Each of these reports could contain a detailed description of some technique, along with some type of link to upsell them on a product of yours that makes the process easier.

Use psychological triggers when writing an ezine article. At the very least try to make the title and text flow. Make it catchy! A headline that uses words like ‘proven’ ’shocking’ ‘powerful’ ’secrets’ will always get more attention than one that simply states the title in drab unemotional wording.

Most importantly set out to inform the reader as much as is possible in 400,600 words. ‘How to’ articles are always popular because they serve the reader making them feel that they have actually learned something and are better off for reading your text.

The whole point of the article is to encourage the reader to seek more information in your resource box where you will promote your business.

If your article looks like one long sales pitch with no informative qualities at all you will have lost your prospect, who will simply stop reading and click away, with no chance of gaining a subscriber or customer.

In closing…

Article distribution is one of the most powerful ways to market effectively online. All the top ‘gurus’ are using this tactic in their arsenal of strategies and it maybe time you came on board too.

Public Domain Articles - Free Articles For Your Online Business

Article Marketing No Comments

If you are an internet entrepreneur you have undoubtedly given more than a passing thought to using articles as a way to drive traffic to your site. It’s a fact of life for most internet business people it is probably the least popular activity.

But there is a way to find timely, free articles for your website - without having to write them yourself and without having to pay a writer to develop them for you. By using articles in the public domain, you can access thousands of articles on a wide variety of subjects.

And here’s the good part - the authors of these articles have all relinquished rights to the work and declared them part of the Public Domain.

Which means you can use them - free of charge.

What is Public Domain?

Work in the Public Domain is any work that has no claim of ownership, rights, royalties, etc., by its original author or creator. Work is generally considered to be in the Public Domain when the work is available to anyone for either business or personal use.

Content comes into the Public Domain for a number of reasons. In some cases, the original copyright has expired, and in others the author created the work with the intent that it would be part of the Public Domain. Writers do this for all kinds of reasons - from portfolio building to just plain vanity! But it’s a real boon to internet businesses - if you know how to use them to your advantage.

Where to Find Them - How to Use Them

Public Domain articles are easy to find by doing a simple search on the internet. In many cases you can access thousands upon thousands of articles from one or two sites, but there are also more creative ways to find content.

One of the ways to find unique copy is to look for books in the Public Domain. By finding and altering excerpts from books in the Public Domain, you have a better chance of posting content that other businesspeople may not have found. You can do the same thing by excerpting portions of articles and newsletters, all of which are freely available and easy to find online.

Make Them Yours

One of the only drawbacks to using works in the Public Domain is that they aren’t, by definition, original. You found them - and that means someone else probably has, too. And while free articles are great, boring-and-mass-produced articles aren’t! The good news is that there are ways you can take advantage of these works and still make them unique to your business.

The easiest thing to do is to find a few articles on the topics specific to your purposes and then adjust them a little. You can do this by taking the main themes of the articles and reworking them into a semi-new piece, or you can “clean up” the article a little, tweaking a few words here and adding a few phrases there to make it more unique.

Optimizing Public Domain articles by seeding them with keywords specific to your business is another way to make the content unique. Doing this gives you a couple of advantages in one fell swoop - you’re making the articles more unique for your business, while also using SEO content to drive more traffic to your site. It’s a quick and efficient way to kill two birds with one stone!

Public Domain - The Internet’s Best-Kept Secret

As internet businesses continue to grow, the demand for web-based content will only increase. By utilizing work in the Public Domain, you can ramp up your business quickly and with minimal investment.

And that means seeing a return on your investment more quickly than ever.

7 Article Writing Mistakes You Don’t Want To Make

Article Marketing No Comments

It is worth bearing in mind that not all article directories have the same rules for your article submission. Using the following article writing tips will give you the very best chance of having your articles accepted by the editors at first reading without you having to do re-writes or, at worst, having your article rejected because of some minor technicality.

Just the other day I received an email from a directory owner, (only 1 spelling mistake and no paragraphs but hey!, they make the rules), with a warning to it’s authors that any spelling mistakes, bad punctuation, grammar and so on would result in the article being rejected out of hand.

From an authors point of view this is a little drastic as, whilst we don’t expect the article editors to spend an excessive amount of time proofing the article, we would like the opportunity to adjust minor errors.

Not everybody has friends and family who can help proof their articles prior to submission and no matter how much care you take to grammar and spell check, the odd mistake is bound to happen. The more prominent article directories and submitters, like Ezine Articles, Article Marketer and Go Articles to name just 3, always give you a chance to correct any errors.

Remember that different sites have different formatting and submission rules and ezines /newsletters may require each line formatted to a certain CPL(Characters Per Line).

Here we go.

Tip 1:

Use Title Case For Your Article Titles - The first letter of each word is capitalized. Do not use a period at the end of a sentence but you may use a ? and an !

Here is a little known tip about article titles. I once made the mistake of using a bland headline. Well, it was basically my initial heading for the article when I first starting writing it without any of the “punch” to draw in the readers and I forgot to amend it.

The article was rejected and it was only because an article editor took the trouble to tell me about it that I became aware of this issue. So, put some punch in your titles!

Tip 2:

If you have a choice of, say, 3 categories and your article will fit only one then just use that category. You do not have to use all 3 just because the options are there. An article can be rejected if you have selected a “close” but not relevant category.

Tip 3:

Check the number of links you are allowed in your resource box. If in doubt then just use 1. If possible you must use anchor text links to help you with off-page search engine optimization. The use of anchor text links is very important. Keep the information in your resource box factual and hype-free.

Tip 4:

Do not use links or HTML in the body of your article. Some sites will allow the use of certain tags but if you are mass submitting your article you probably won’t even see the allowable tags anyway.

Tip 5:

Avoid using repetitive decorative symbols to form dividers in the article body such as the double underline, hash or dollar signs.

Tip 6:

Do not write an advertisement for your affiliate product and definitely no affiliate links, even in your resource box.

Tip 7:

Some article directories will not accept a series of articles in parts so don’t put Part 1 or Part 2 in the title. Also refrain from placing wording similar to “the next article in the series will be about ” at the end of your article.

Discover Ways To Earn Money Online Using A Blog

Article Marketing No Comments

There are several ways you can earn money using a blog. One way is with Affiliate Sales which is promoting another person’s product where you get paid a commission.

Another way is with Adsense which is where you have advertisements for other people’s products put on your blog and you are paid when a visitor clicks on this ad.

Yet another way is with direct sales where you are selling your own product or a product that you have the resale rights to.

If your plan of action is to use Affiliate Sales, you need to find two or three related affiliate programs to join. A few of the places to check for affiliates is Clickbank, Commission Junction or PayDotCom. There are several others that are also available. You can find these by use one of the search engines such as Google.

To get traffic to your site, you can write articles pertaining to the niche that you are designing your blog around or you could write reviews pertaining to the affiliate program that you are promoting. If you are going to write a review, give an honest review. Point out the main features or benefits of the product, but also list any drawbacks of the product. You will earn the respect of your visitor if your review is honest.

If you are using direct sales of your own product, you can either sell directly from your blog or direct your visitor to your website or online store. Either way, you would proceed using the same method. Write articles regarding the product or products that you are promoting or have resale rights to, or write a review. Again, be sure the review is honest. You want your visitors to become regular, repeat visitors.

If you plan on using your blog for Adsense, the easiest way is to use Google’s Adsense program. You need to set up your blog targeting one niche or topic.

Let’s say you start a blog regarding pets. Google would then place ads on your site that pertain to all types of pets. For example, they could put an ad on your blog pertaining to dogs, cats, horses, fish, snakes, pet supplies or even veterinary services. The amount you earn depends a lot on the amount of traffic you receive.

One of the best ways to get traffic is to write articles and publish them on your blog and by submitting them to the article directories. Another way would be to post comments on one of the various forums pertaining to pets. By adding your blog URL in your signature block, you will be creating back links to your blog. This method of obtaining advertisers requires very little work on your part. You just have to keep the blog updated with current information to keep visitors coming for more.

Another way to obtain advertisers for your Adsense blog is to obtain them yourself. You sell the advertising directly to companies who want to place a sponsored ad or link on your blog. They may also want to place a banner ad. While this method is more time consuming, it can also earn you more money because you keep all of the revenue. There is no dividing or splitting the revenue with Google or anyone else.

The main problem with this method is that you need to have a large amount of traffic coming to your blog before you will find many companies that would be interested in advertising with you. To obtain the traffic, you use the same method of writing articles and submitting them to the article directories, and by posting comments on various forums related to your niche.

It doesn’t matter what type of blog you want to have. In order to maintain a continuous flow of traffic, you need to keep the search engines happy by continually updating the information on it. Always make sure that the content is of high quality, is unique, is pertinent, and most of all informative. The search engines will love your blog if you keep them well fed with great information. The more you feed them, the more they will visit. The more they visit, the higher your blog placement will be on the result pages.
