A cruise can be the perfect way to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily living and just enjoy a week or two without responsibilities. Many people are a bit nervous about how they should act on a cruise ship though and aren’t sure exactly what is acceptable behavior. With that in mind, here are a few dos and don`ts to help you out.
Do
Tip your steward. This is only fair, considering that he or she will be working hard during the voyage to keep your cabin neat and clean. Stewards also honor special requests and can help you find items or places you need. The tip should be given at the end of the cruise and should amount to about $3.50 a day.
Tip the wait staff. When you eat in the main dining hall every evening, you will likely be assigned a waiter who will be with you for the duration of the cruise. Nightly tipping isn`t expected, but you most certainly will want to give a tip at the end of the cruise, usually on the final night. How much is up to you, depending on the service of the waiter, but the norm is around $3-4 per day.
Be courteous. When you are polite and friendly with the crew, you`ll find that they are far more willing to help you out than if you are always snapping orders at them. Be nice and they`ll be nice right back.
Take the time to thank people. While on a cruise, you should still keep your manners about you and thank everyone who does something for you . . . even if they are being paid to do so. A simple thanks can go a long way.
Don`t
Criticize everything. Yes, you paid good money to go on this cruise, but hopefully you did enough research to know what to expect. Relax and enjoy the cruise, rather than looking at the bad side of things.
Become a cruise stalker. While you are bound to make new friends on the cruise, it`s one thing to get together for bingo and drinks, quite another to follow them around the ship all day! It`s a good idea to befriend several people so you have a variety of friends to hang out with, even if you aren`t with a partner.
Complain to random crew members. Cruise ships are usually big and if you have a complaint, you should go through the proper channels and not just pick someone at random who probably has no idea what you are talking about and can`t possibly help you. Instead, speak to the manager of the area you are having issues with. For example, if your problem is with the waiter, speak to the head waiter.
Slam your cabin door. Taking a moment to close it quietly, particularly at night, will help keep the peace among your neighbors! The same goes for talking loudly in the corridor . . . it can really be obnoxious to fellow passengers.
Cruise ship etiquette is really like any other etiquette. Unfortunately, many people use this time to gripe about the service and weather and just be rude in general. Just because you are outside your normal environment, doesn`t mean you should be able to act any way you please and it`s a good idea to remember this when you choose to go on a cruise. You`ll enjoy it a lot more, too, when the staff responds to you nicely because you`ve treated them well.

I’ve cruised dozens of ships on various lines and in my opinion this is as good as it gets on a mega-liner of 2200+ passengers with 920 crew. Costa’s Atlantica was a floating palace of art deco furnishings, marble inlaid floors and millions of dollars invested in original works of art. It exceeded my expectations. Also I normally loose weight on cruises shunning the ships artificial fare. This time I over indulged on varied menus of fresh food. I ate enough prosciutto and ice cream to last a decade. The Italian accented cuisine was prepared by Euro-chefs and culinary graduates of the world famous Chaine des Rotisseurs.
I was part of an awesome group of 60 singles who blended harmoniously. No love connections occurred (that I know of), but friendships developed as we bonded on our private shore excursions and parties onboard. This group was blessed throughout with the best weather the Baltic region could ever provide - 68 degrees daily and no rain. The First Officer said this was the best weather of the summer.
Each country visited was a lesson in culture and history. We saw an eyeful along our 1987 nautical miles. In Copenhagen Denmark - with its Mermaid, Stockholm Sweden the archipelago referred to as Venice of the North, Helsinki Finland so friendly, modern and clean, Grand St. Petersburg Russia where we squeezed in a full power tour of the Hermitage, palaces, onion domed churches, canals and an evening ballet. Our final port was charming Tallinn Estonia where the entire walled Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It was like walking through a fairytale.
For our days at sea there was never a dull moment with 3 pools, shops, casino, luxurious spa and contests with the crew. The 2 story gym was so high tech that I didn’t know how to turn on the equipment, so the only exercise I got was jumping to conclusions. The midnight buffets were the most magnificent I’ve ever witnessed with countless ice sculptures. There was a house baked out of bread and piano shaped from white chocolate.
On our last night we attempted to pack all our trinkets collected: Faberge egg, Russian nesting dolls, Swedish crystal, Finish glassware, Nordic pewter, lingonberry jams, amber jewelry, hand knit sweaters and a million T-shirts. Many things such as our fur hats may end up in a garage sale some day, but the bargaining sure was fun.
We tasted just an appetizer of this 5 country smorgasbord but leave perfectly satisfied. As I say Bon Voyage to this unique part of this world, I am able to remiss another journey well done.

We all have heard of the mysteries of Bermuda triangles and the rich pink beaches of Bermuda islands. But most of the people are uninformed of its exact geographical location. While some are of the opinion that it might be located somewhere in the Caribbean’s, the others speculate that it might be an Australian island.
The fact of the matter is Bermuda islands are located in the North Atlantic, and North Carolina is just 570 miles away from these islands. Bermuda is indeed an lump of 150 very small islands of volcanic origin totaling a land mass of 21 square miles. For the natives, all the minor islands are altogether referred to as Bermuda Island, while the largest amidst them, the real Bermuda Island is purely called “the island.”
Since the time global tourism has unfurled, Bermuda has been the foremost option of the millions of tourists all across the world. And it is sanctified by the unparallel charms of this historical island. In the cultural side you will find an well-founded British influence with an African undercurrent and thus the Cricket and Gombey dancing go hand in hand uninterrupted. Along with the British architecture, British cutesy the postmeridian tea is also the normalcy of the island. The native Bermudans highly mark such traits in the tourists as manners and solid dressing sense.
As a paradise for tourists the island is filled with luxury resorts, small hotels, and cottages. But a land holiday in Bermuda may appear to be high priced for the average vacationers. So over the years the excursion freaks have come to work out the best way of enjoying a Bermuda vacation and that is by cruising.
No matter which part of the USA you belong, Cruises take off frequently from Boston, New York City, Philadelphia and Baltimore. In under two days you will be able to reach any of these Bermuda ports: The Hamilton, St. George Port, or King’s Wharf or the Royal Naval Dockyard. While the initial two city ports are more tourists infested, the alternate is slightly unconnected, but you will get the shopping centers and pubs.
Normally the ships spend a couple days in either Hamilton or St. George, prior to shifting to the dockyard. To embrace the most out of it, what you have to do is, pick up a map in the cruise ship terminal and set out to explore this seductive island. One of the absolute best ways to explore this amazing island is by foot, you could do it all by yourself or join upon many of the walking tours that are arranged.
The best Bermuda cruising “season” stretches from April through October. As this is the same time as the Hurricane season. In unfortunate cases, your itinerary could be affected by one such beat. But generally, seafaring to and from any US ports gives you an overall smooth experience.
In reality today, Bermuda cruise vacations have become so widespread, so by today there is more people arriving by sea than air. The beneficial part of a cruise vacation is that it is devoid of any demanding travel planning like booking air ticket or accommodations in the hotels. Once on board, it’s an all inclusive. You have to pay an all inclusive charges which embrace the costs of accommodation, meals, activities and entertainment.
The best way to get started is here on the internet, you should really consider booking your trip online and in good time before you expect to go.. This way you will be able to get huge discounts on brochure prices and lowest airfares to your selected departure port.

Choosing your cruise is one of the most important steps of your cruise experience. Finding the best cruise agent is essential. Knowing which liner will best suit your needs, style, which destination ports will be of interest to you and when you should travel, are some of the many aspects which should be considered.
This is why a cruise agent is such an important part of your cruise vacation decision.
Below are just a few of the aspects that a good cruise agent will discuss with you during your cruise consultation. Be sure to make notes of any special questions you may have before you speak with them.
The Five W’s
1. Who: Knowing who is travelling is one of the more obvious questions but one which must be carefully considered. Are you a single traveler, a couple, a family, or a group? Are there small children traveling or would you prefer an adult only ship?
Would you prefer a younger or more mature onboard age group? These are some of the important factors which must be considered when selecting the right cruise ship, and some of the many things that your cruise agentwill discuss with you.
2. What Ship to Choose: Each luxury cruise line has many benefits and aspects that make it unique in the industry. Some ships are intimate vessels carrying approximately a hundred passengers, whereas others set sail with several hundred to over a thousand passengers.
The onboard atmosphere of some ships is more formal, with traditional dining venues, whereas others offer a more casual setting with an open dining experience.
Matching you with the ship that will best suit your needs and style should be your first priority. Let the cruise agent help you to choose the ship that is right for you.
3. Where: With over 65% of the world being covered by water, it seems as though the “Where” possibilities are truly endless. Where does one start? How do you choose? Well, one way is by knowing when you can travel to each location and what time of year the itineraries are offered.
Also, what do the destinations offer and are the ports of interest to you? Some of the more common destination choices are: the Caribbean, the Panama Canal, the South Pacific, the Mediterranean, the Baltic, and Africa & Asia. And for the brave what about the titanic route, you may see some nice icebergs.
Your cruise agent should be happy to discuss the many options being offered. In addition, once you have decided on your cruise destination, a good cruise agent will provide you with in-depth information on pre-cruise and post-cruise stays, as well as private shore excursion options.
4. When: When to cruise usually depends on one of two things: when you are able to go or when the itinerary you are interested in taking is being offered. The first consideration, when you are able to go, is easily determined.
Once you establish your time frame, your cruise specialist is able to provide you with a selection of cruises being offered at that time. If you personal availability is flexible, often times, the second consideration, when the itinerary you are interested in taking is being offered, is another way of choosing when to go, as certain itineraries are only offered at certain times of the year.
Your cruise agent can help you to select the best time to travel to your destination and which itineraries are being offered.
5. Why are you traveling: The question is, far too often, overlooked by travelers, and is one of the more important questions to consider. Are you traveling for rest and relaxation?
Are you traveling to learn about a specific destination or culture? Are you interested in a learning or life enrichment experience? Or is it a special occasion (i.e. a honeymoon, an anniversary, a family reunion, etc.)?
These scenarios are just a few of the many reasons that you may be considering a cruise and knowing “Why” you are traveling, will help your cruise specialist match you with the cruse line, ship and itinerary that will best suit your needs.
As you can see, there are many factors that go into the planning of your cruise vacation. Researching, defining, and refining all of these variables is why your cruise agent is such an important part of your decision and selection process.
Hope you have a wonderful cruise. By the way,do you get seasick? The chances on a cruise are very slim. However it is always advisable to take some sea sick pills with you; just in case.

Taking a cruise should be the holiday of a lifetime for many people and usually, it is. However, many people are usually in too good a mood to factor in the possibility of sickness becoming a factor during the cruise and who can blame them.
Cruise ship sickness is real though and in recent years, is becoming a little more prevalent. This is understandable when you consider more people than ever are choosing to cruise given the fantastic deals on offer most of the time. Sea sickness, gastro intestinal viruses, colds and flus and in recent times, the highly contagious Norwalk virus can spoil the best laid plans of cruise enthusiasts. So how do you protect yourself against cruise ship sickness and what can you do to prevent yourself from becoming a victim?
Let’s make one thing clear; cruise lines run very tight ships and cleanliness is one of their highest priorities. When a ship disembarks a group of passengers, the turn around time for the next group is sometimes only hours. The clean up process is very thorough but the problem is the next group of passengers may contain some people who may be infected with some type of illness. Companies take every precaution available to them to prevent any outbreaks of cruise line sickness.
Did You Know?
The Norwalk virus was first identified in Norwalk, Ohio in 1972. It’s described as an intestinal illness which people can contract by swallowing contaminated food and water. There are no long term effects from the virus and people usually can recover within several days. To prevent contracting the Norwalk virus it’s advised wash hands thoroughly following bathroom visits and before preparing food.
Precautions You Can Take While On Board
There are several things you can do while on board a ship to avoid cruise sickness. This report is not advocating you spend your time worrying about getting sick, after all, you are on board to enjoy yourself but the following tips will give you the best chance of avoiding sickness.
- Maintain a good level of cleanliness. For example, wash your hands thoroughly whenever you visit the bathroom or even come in contact with strangers such as shaking hands.
- For motion sickness, be prepared. Visit your doctor before you leave for your cruise. If you are susceptible to motion sickness you may require the use of a skin patch. Also, while on board, avoid such things as over eating and drinking. Also avoid contact with cigarette smoke. Motion sickness tablets should also be packed before you leave.
- Avoid unprotected sexual encounters. Cruise ships provide the ideal scenario for romantic interludes but there is a difference between being romantic and just plain careless.
- Food is such a big attraction on cruises and over-indulgence can be a problem. Be particularly careful about consuming uncooked food such as some seafood varities. While it can sometimes be hard to resist, being a little prudent during the cruise can save you a whole lot of unnecessary downtime.
Thousands of people in a confined space over several days or weeks can be a breeding ground for illness. By adopting some healthy and safe best practices you will give yourself the best chance of avoiding any form of cruise ship sickness.

A cruise getaway can be a great vacation for both family and couple. Some cruise companies even come out with different packages catering particularly for families or for lovers. If you are planning a cruise getaway, there are really plenty to choose from and you should take your time and look around for the right cruise company. Here are some tips that can help you.
Avoid Peak Season
Cruise is not a cheap vacation. A family cruise getaway can easily cost you more than $1000-$2000. Cruise package for couples will cost you about $600-$800. Also, the price difference between peak and non-peak season vary by about 30%. To save your cruise expenses, the first thing you should do is to avoid the peak seasons and always on a look out for special offers. Don’t plan your vacation last minute, especially cruise because you will always get the more expensive deal if you are doing some last minute work. Instead, plan at least 3 months in advance and always on a look out for special deals and offers. This will help you to save a big deal.
Cruise for family
If you are planning a cruise getaway for family, you should look for family friendly cruises. These cruises should offer built in kid’s play areas and other kids facilities. These are child friendly areas where you can leave your kids with qualified child care staff while you take time out to indulge yourself and relax. The best thing is the kids won’t mind since they will have a lot of activities to keep them entertained. Another great thing about a family cruise is that you stop at many different locations but you do not have to worry about airport checks or finding your luggages. You simply stop for the day and enjoy the sites with your family. In the evenings you go back to your cruise ship and the fun doesn’t stop there. There is lots to do and see on board.
Cruise for lovers
A lovers cruise is undoubtedly the perfect getaway for you and your partner. Some cruises are tailor-made for couples and the package come with complementary champagne, VIP treatment and free access to the shore excursions of your choice. Some popular destinations include the Caribbean and the Galapagos due to their hot and sexy appeal. For couples who prefer a bit of adventure you can get a cruise to Mexico where you can experience ancient history and long buried treasures. Even if you just decide to stay on the cruise itself, there are many things you can do. You can relax by the pool and sunbathe the day away or experience the entire range of entertainment available during both day and night.
Getting a last minute cruise
To certain extend, last minute cruise deals are great value for money. You may finish up paying less for a last minute cruise than if you were to book several months earlier. However, there is a risk attached to getting a last minute cruise. Your chosen cruise ship might be sold out, or the price might not fall to the level that you had hoped for, or the cheaper cabin may be sold out and you have no choice but to get the more expensive cabin. If you are not planning for some special occasion, it is okay to ahead risking and getting some real good deal in a last minute cruise. But if you are planning for some special occasion, it is better to book the cruise way in advance because the cruise operators usually offer generous discounts to secure forward bookings.
Tips for cheap cruise
Let’s say if you only a budget of $250 dollars, what can you do with your money? Well you can try a 3 or 4 night cheap cruise around the Bahamas. These cruises leave frequently from Port Canaveral and Miami, Florida. The cruise is completely luxurious meaning you can relax to your hearts content. If you reside on west America, you can spend your $250 on a 4-night cruise to Mexico. These cruises include the ports of Catalina Island and Ensenada on the Baja peninsula and Long Beach in California.
By preparing ahead and asking all the relevant questions, it will be easier to choose the right cruise vacation for your family or your loved one.

A mediterranean cruise to savor. It’s pretty hard to beat cruising through the mediterranean given the rich history of the region and and on a recent Crystal cruise, this famous part of the world was brought to life in no uncertain manner.
In this article, I will highlight some of my experiences in the fascinating Adriatic region as our trip took us to Dubrovnik. I had heard a lot of Dubrovnik, in fact, famous writer George Bernard Shaw was known to have made a startling comparison between this region and a place we know as Heaven. Well, I’m not sure if it’s really Heaven but given it’s amazing landscape and surrounds, it might pass as a good likeness. This being my first mediterranean cruise, I wanted to head to a part of the world that would confirm some of the self made images I had conjured up of the region. Images not made up but images that had formed over time from all the information I had absorbed over the years.
There are few places in the world where there is harmony between man and nature. The clear waters of the Adriatic coupled with the natural features of the region surrounding Dubrovnik just wanted to make me melt away into the landscape and emerge only when I was ready. I guess when you are on a cruise schedule, time is limited and when the captain says it’s time to go; it’s time to go! When we docked in Dubrovnik, the skies were grey and threatening rain but it didn’t dampen the sprits of most of the 942 passengers on board. This was the one and only shore excursion I had booked before we started the cruise and a little wet weather wasn’t going to keep me ship bound.
Did You Know?
Famous English king Richard The Lionheart was once rescued in this region. Back in the 13th. century during medieval times, King Richard became stranded and after being rescued, was so grateful that he made quite a sizeable donation. The locals didn’t waste any time and built a church.
Mediterranean Climate
There is something special about the mediterranean climate. When it’s on song it’s hard to beat. It wasn’t quite on song in Dubrovnik but you sensed it was around you by absorbing the wonderful aromas of the surrounding vines, herbs and flowers. This cruise had been much to my liking up until this point and I considered my stop in Dubrovnik as the impending highlight. It didn’t let me down. The walking trail we were led along gave us an appreciation of the amazing contrasts in the local geography. While there are no sandy beaches here, the pebble beaches which backed up against the imposing cliffs had us snapping furiously with our cameras. Here I was, in an area which on one hand seemed to stand still in time, yet, on the other, it somehow embraced progress at the same time.
I glanced out across the Adriatic from a cliff top and spotted our ship. This cruise could have ended now and I would have been satisfied. Dubrovnik was worth getting off the ship for. This famous city is world heritage listed and boasts some amazing architectural designs. Now it was time to head back and rejoin my Crystal cruise holiday ship but it was a struggle to return.
A mediterranean cruise is obviously a little different than cruising through the caribbean. If you have been concentrating on the latter and are ready for some cultural variety, then the mediterranean is the place to head to.

Cruise ship vacations are quite possibly one of the best vacations you will experience. Ever see those giant white vessels in port? They look like luxurious floating hotels; but they are much more. They are literally a city on the water. But what makes these behemoths so great is that they are a city with only one purpose in mind: Everything on your cruise vacation is focused on making sure that you are pampered and have an enjoyable experience.
The rooms are comfortable, there is plenty of entertainment - from moves to music to dancing to gambling to soaking in the sun’s rays. Just about anything you find entertaining can be enjoyed on cruise ship.
These Cruise ship vacations come in a variety of styles for every type of vacationer. For example, if you are a single person looking to find romance, you might enjoy a singles excursion which is especially designed to help single people meet other single people.
But you’re not confined to a boat for the duration of your vacation. They offer a variety of entertainment on land, as well, with pre-planned cruise shore excursions. Periodically during your vacation, the ship will dock at a port and you’ll have the option of signing up on various on-land adventures to experience before returning to your cruise ship and heading to the next port.
Where can I go on my vacation?
The real question should be: where CAN’T you go on your holiday? There are so many choices that the hardest part is deciding which one you want to take. Do you want to go to Alaska’s frigid waters and watch for whales? Do you want a Norwegian excursion and watch for Vikings (or at least float the waters they explored)? Or a cruise med and head to the Mediterranean for a hot and sunny experience. Or you can take a panama canal holiday that leads you from one ocean to the other through the historically significant passage.
How much do they cost?
Cruise ship vacation costs are largely dependent on when you go. Like other travel companies, the more popular the destination, the more expensive it is to book a spot at the time period. If many people are trying to book a spot on a cruise ship to the hot Caribbean in the winter, it will be pricier than if only a few people are booking a vacation in the winter.
But don’t let the price keep you away from enjoying a yourself. If you look around online you’ll find discounts and cheap cruise sites that let you book a reservation on one affordably. Sometimes there are last minute deals because they’re about to set sail and have a few rooms left over. Whatever the case may be, you will probably find that you can enjoy a cruise ship more affordably than you thought.

Cost is a big factor for many prospective cruise holidaymakers and if you have been holding back because of this then I’m here to tell you that you that it really shouldn’t be an issue at all. Discount cruises have enabled many holiday makers to enjoy the pleasures of sailing the high seas in recent years and with a little due diligence on your part, you could very well be sunning it on a cruise ship in the near future.
You see, discount cruise holidays are being offered all the time. You just need to be aware of them.
Did You Know?
Cruise lines rarely sail a ship which is only partly booked. Discount cruise fares are one way for them to make sure that as many cabins, and in most cases, all available cabins are booked. Why? Well, giant cruise ships are expensive to operate; that’s a fact and cruise lines will offer varying degrees of discounts prior to departure to fill as many rooms as possible rather than leave them empty. That is good business sense.
How To Spot Discount Cruises
It’s unlikely you’ll see these type of offers advertised in mainstream media. So it’s up to you to check with travel agents and cruise lines to see what type of deals are on offer. It also pays to join travel and cruise site memberships if only to receive discount offers. In other words, you need to do some digging to find the nuggets of gold.
The question often arises of whether a discount means a compromise on quality. This is a question you need to raise whether shopping for deals but I can assure you that any reputable cruise line would frown on any suggestion of diminished quality simply because of a cheaper price. There is just too much at stake for these shipping conglomerates and while they are always trying to attract the first time vacationers, you can bet that a large percentage of their business comes from repeat cruisers. Put it this way, a regular buying customer at a discount price is a lot more valuable than a one time purchaser. So quality should never be an issue.
On a recent Royal Caribbean cruise to Cancun, Mexico which I booked at late notice at a tidy discount, my experience was so good that I was already planning my next adventure. The cost of the trip was well below “full tote odds.” One way to land nice discounts I’ve found is to deal with agents who who deal in bulk. That’s the bulk sale of cabins which gives the purchaser plenty of room to move price wise.
Be diligent in your approach to finding discount cruises. Get on mailing lists from agents, either travel or cruise lines. The information you receive will keep you up-to-date on the available of discounts and depending on availability, last minute deals are always the ones to be on the lookout for.

For those who have wanted to take a cruise but tight budgets just won’t allow it, there are easy ways of finding the cheapest cruises. There are many travel agents out there with great deals for cruises. You can also go directly to the cruise line to see what specials they may be offering.
Sometimes, booking your cruise online can get you a better deal, as many travel agencies try to promote on the internet for travel needs. You can take care of most of your travel needs with just a click of a mouse, making the internet your one stop shop for your vacation. The price you pay depends on what type of cruise you choose.
The next step is deciding which cruise line you want to go with, and there are many to choose from. The most popular cruise lines are: Carnival Cruise Lines, Princess, Costa Cruise Lines, NCL, Royal Caribbean, Disney Cruises, Celebrity Cruises, Crystal Cruises, Cunard Line, Holland America Line, Norwegian Cruise Line, MSC Cruises, Silversea, Windstar Cruises, Seabourn Cruise Line, Uniworld River Cruises, Oceania Cruises, and Regent Seven Seas Cruises.
You can also decide from luxury cruises, sail ship cruises, river cruises, seniors cruising, golf cruises, and anything from weddings and honeymoons to business incentive and education on vacation can also be found.
The cruise industry is growing all the time. More people are taking to the seas for adventure and relaxation. The nice thing about a cruise ship is that it helps you to slow down and take life more casually, because you aren’t racing to get to some destination. Cruising is all about the journey. While the destination may be memorable, even more memories will probably be made on board the ship.
If you’re looking for a luxury cruise deal a traditional travel agent may find you a better deal if they can set you up with a group deal. The agent can book several passengers at once, often getting a “bulk” discount.
You may want to be careful with some of these deals, however, as they may require you to travel as a group and do everything together. And for the hundred or so dollars you may save, you could be relinquishing some personal decision-making in the recreational activities you take part in.
Depending on the type of cruise deal you choose, all-inclusive generally buys you more for your money. These deals supply, as the name implies, everything. Transportation to the port from which you will depart as well as return, all food and beverages during the cruise and entertainment packages while on the vessel.
Depending on how much time you plan to stay in your stateroom, the need for deluxe accommodations should be considered. If you plan to spend the majority of your trip locked in your room, then it may be a good bargain, but the best cruise deal may be found with the smaller rooms you plan to use just for sleeping and storing your belongings.
There are a wide variety of onboard activities to choose from that usually vary from one cruise line to another. This is one of the most important decisions you will have to make, as you want to be sure you will enjoy yourself during your time spent on your trip.
When looking for cheap cruises, you will want to plan your trip with a few extras so you will not be disappointed. It also helps to have a flexible schedule so you can have a better choice of things to do on your cruise.
You will want to travel in the off season to get better values as summer months and holidays tend to raise prices and the good deals go away. This makes it a bit harder if you have children that are of school age as they would have to miss school to go on vacation. During the peak seasons, cruises are usually booked up with regular fares, so chances of getting a good deal then is highly unlikely.
There are many ways to save on your cruise. You just have to do a bit of homework when planning your trip. Many cruise lines will offer a special for families, offering the “children are free” option. This can be an extremely good deal if you have more than one child or if you are traveling with another group that has children.
Check local newspapers as they always show good travel deals and check with travel agencies to see what offers they have available. Don’t forget to check the internet for deals as well. Travel websites are always competing with each other for the lowest rates, so you can use that to your advantage.

So, you want to plan a trip to Hawaii. There are lots of options to consider when planning your vacation and they may seem overwhelming. A good starting point might be to think about how you are planning to arrive in this tropical paradise. Since Hawaii is, after all, an island there are only two ways to get there: by sea or by air. When calculating time from California, your choice is between five hours in the air or five days by sea. Now, I know there’s a big difference in time, but a Hawaii cruise might be just the excitement and relaxation you’re looking for.
Depending on your preference of travel, a Hawaii cruise might sound much more appealing to you than traveling by plane. It is inevitable that every time you step onto an airplane, even if you did pay top dollar for first class, you find yourself in an overcrowded area, in close quarters with several hundred people, many who are possibly ill.
You probably do everything you can, short of jump off the plane, to pass the grueling five hours. Then once you’re off the plane you spend another hour or more enduring airport security and looking for your luggage before you even begin the trip to your hotel. Wow, doesn’t sound like a great way to start a relaxing vacation. And just think, you get to do it all over again at the end of your trip, too.
Now, visualize yourself heading to your departure point and arriving right at your hotel. No long security lines, no crowded planes. When you travel by ship on a Hawaii cruise it’s just like checking into your hotel and relaxing while you head to your destination. You can put your luggage in your room and head straight to the pool deck, enjoy a cocktail, and spend the first five hours of your vacation basking in the tropical sun rather than dodging someone else’s germs.
When it comes down to it there’s really no comparison. I know I would much rather spend my vacation to Hawaii relaxing on a cruise ship than wasting it in an airport. You will return home relaxed and calm from a week of pampering and luxury instead of stressed to the max from a long flight. The choice is yours, spend you days and nights in a luxurious room, enjoying delicious meals on a cruise ship of your preference, and you will truly enjoy your getaway to the paradise of the Hawaiian islands.

* City life. Alaskan cruises that stop in Anchorage will also provide passengers a chance to see what a metro area in the wilderness has to offer. The city might be in a wild frontier, but that doesn’t mean it’s devoid of upscale dining, theater, galleries, shopping and more.

A cruise on a luxury liner paints pictures of sun, sea and romance to anyone who has the opportunity to plan and experience one. But the daunting aspect is the price tag attached to the tickets. Reading this piece will hopefully give you a better understanding of the system and therefore get you a better deal.
There are, in fact, quite a few ‘discount’ cruise travels. Here’s a tip for a trip that spells luxury and which you may just be able to buy for a song! The basic truth is that all the unsold tickets on a cruise liner are then sold in the ‘discount’ market since an empty berth is a direct loss. The closer you get to the date of the cruise, the more discounts you get and they naturally try and fill as many berths as possible. But remember that you have to be lucky and be at the right place at the right time. It is very much like being the millionth visitor to an amusement park.
Discounts as a rule are offered only on unsold inventory and chances are that with the size of ships increasing along with their capacity, discounts will be more freely available. The exception is a celebrity cruise or something similar. What cruise operators do is to reposition their cruises to accommodate the discounted passengers. Here’s how it works and knowing it, will help you get better deals
Repositioning is the fancy word for rerouting their cruises and resetting their timing. In summer, most cruises will be scheduled for the north (Alaska) where the summer temperature is tolerable and the scenery beautiful, added to that is the lure of the local wildlife which you see if you are lucky. During the winter months when Alaska freezes over then they have no choice but to send the ships south where again the temperature is balmy - therefore the Caribbean. Cruises to the East - the Indian sub-continent, Singapore, Hong Kong, etc are normally run throughout the year as the temperature in the tropics is nice all year round.
How do you, as a prospective passenger, tell if a cruise is going to be repositioned? All one needs to do is follow the route of the various ships sailing at any time. Those that head north during summer will head south during winter and vice versa. There could be the odd Europe cruise during summer as well and this would be repositioned as a Caribbean cruise during the summer.
There are disadvantages of going on repositioned cruises, they normally spend a lot more time at sea than they do at ports, so if your objective is to visit as many ports as possible and experience the different cultures, then a repositioned cruise might not be the one for you. If after knowing the bare essentials, you are still interested in being on-board repositioned cruises in the summer, it’s time to go and look up where you can get the best possible deal! On the Internet, it would be worthwhile looking up the web site of a cruise liner like the Norwegian cruise line or the Carnival Liberty.

A cruise is an opportunity to relax and enjoy being taken care of. You can take in the warm sun on a beach, devour amazing food, be entertained without out driving very far, and have time alone away from the noise of everyday life. Going on a cruise is becoming easier for nearly everyone to afford and it can be enjoyed any time of the year.
What’s so Great about a Cruise?
If you choose a cruise for your vacation you can get the best deal for your money. This is true for many reasons. You can visit multiple places without having to pack and unpack constantly. The best cruise lasts about seven days. Any shorter and you feel like it is over before you’ve fully relaxed. Any longer and you get home sick. Seven days is plenty of time to visit about three different places, while having time to just hang out and enjoy the atmosphere.
If you get one of the cruise packages, you can get everything inclusive. This means that for one price you get lodging, great cuisine, and plenty of entertainment. This is probably the best way to relax because you aren’t worrying about sticking to a budget. Instead you can eat all that you want and do nearly all the activities. A cruise will typically have food available 24 hours a day. This is perfect if you are up late enjoying the moonlight or engaging in some entertainment during normal eating times.
With any cruise liner that you use, you can find entertainment and food for all age groups. So you don’t have to worry about whether you and your kids will be able to find things you enjoy. There are live shows, dancing, late night movies, a piano bar, games, and much more. It will be nearly impossible to take part in all the activities going on because you will be so busy enjoying yourself. On a cruise you will also find an onboard chronicle that you will want to have handy to see when all the activities occur and what they entail. The cruise may have the chronicle delivered to your cabin door or maybe you’ll need to go to the front desk for a copy.
The food is so amazing you’ll have a hard time resisting it. So if you feel like you need to keep in shape you can spend time in the fully-equipped gym that will usually have a fitness instructor available to give you some pointers.
If you prefer to just relax during the cruise, you can take part in the onboard spa. Here you’ll enjoy massages by professionals that can really help you take your mind off all the worries from back home. There is also a beauty salon available on many cruises where you can get all spruced up for a fancy evening in the dining room. The beauty salon and spa aren’t part of the all-inclusive package, so you’ll want to set aside some money for it.
Taking Precautions to Ensure you have a good Time
The last thing you want to deal with on your relaxing trip is getting sick. So you will want to bring along some motion sickness pills, which you’ll want to take a half hour before getting on the cruise. If you have a problem with pills, you can also look into getting the motion sickness band that goes on your wrist.
If you are one that usually forgets an essential at home like toothpaste, there will be a store onboard where you can get all kinds of supplies. For more information on specific cruise lines and cruise ship reviews, look online or visit a travel agent. You are sure to find one that is perfect for your preferences.

There are so many people now enjoying cruises that the market has become very competitive. If you’ve never been on a cruise or aren’t sure which are good and you are considering them, you will definitely want to check out a cruise ship review. This is a good way to find out about the amenities and services that each cruise offers.
What you’ll find on a Cruise Ship Review
There are a number of categories that are covered with a cruise ship review. When you are looking at one you will see stars by each category for each cruise line. The number of stars ranges from one to six, with six being the top score. Nearly everything you can think of that has to do with a cruise will be rated, from lodging accommodations to culinary arts. The cruise ship review isn’t used as advertisement for a liner, but rather it is based on the experiences of expert reviewers.
If the food quality is poor, a cruise ship will take a big hit in the review. This is because most cruises are known for their amazing cuisines and 24 hour dining. Not only is flavor considered, but also freshness and creativeness.
Lodging is graded based on size and amenities. This includes quality of the sheets, cleanliness, TV channels, movies, view of the ocean, and much more.
Entertainment can play a big role in how much you enjoy your vacation. So, the cruise ship review will include tours and onboard information. A cruise should have excursions available at all ports and information available on them. The cruise ship review will consider how well you are informed about the excursions ahead of time and how enjoyable they are.
Views of the Passengers
Sometimes you will see passenger comments on the cruise ship review. This is great because it gives you an inside view based on people just like you. It also allows you to see what different people experience so that you are getting a number of perspectives. A passenger’s review can sometimes cover things that an expert reviewer missed.
Most people save for a cruise for months or even years. It is a vacation that you want to remember for its great adventure and relaxing atmosphere. So it is important that you read a cruise ship review about the different cruises before choosing one so that you don’t have to worry about being disappointed.

If you are looking for cruise line that sails around the world, you have a number of options to choose from. Most of them have the best comfort and highest standards among lines. You’ll see that some of the companies are known only in the specific places that they visit the most, whereas others are known all over the world. All of these lines provide such a great experience that you never forget what a great time you had.
If you are mostly interested in visiting different places around the United States, than you might like the American Cruise Lines the best. These companies are enjoyed because of the interesting places that you get to explore on the coastline of the United States and the small islands that you’ll get to visit. The guides on the lines are well-read and can tell you all about the history and nature of each place you visit. If you choose one of the smaller ships to go on, you will get to experience a more intimate vacation that provides great comfort.
Another well-known cruise line is the Cunard Line. This company gives you a quieter experience as it travels farther out into the ocean. You’ll definitely feel like you are away from it all out on thier ships. Among the ships for the Cunard Line is the famous Queen Mary II. This ship has been called The Most Famous Ocean Liner in the World due to its beauty and luxury crossings. Other things that make this ship stand out are that it is the tallest, largest, and most expensive cruise liner in the world.
Fun Cruise Lines
There are some lines that really appeal to families. Companies like Disney and Princess are well-known for their fun, family atmosphere. These cruise lines have all types of activities to appeal to all personalities and interests. The Disney Line is owned by Disney and it sails to the Bahamas. When you get a vacation package through Disney, you also get a chance to stay at the Walt Disney Resort. This is a great way to extend your vacation or set you up for two separate ones.
Princess has destinations around the world that it travels to. They have fifteen ships and each has a different location that it goes to. Those of you who have been lucky enough to have the opportunity to go cruising already know what a wonderful experience a cruise can be. Indeed, it’s more than likely that you probably rate every vacation you take now against the standard set by your cruise.
Even if you’ve never been on a cruise the chances are that you’ve thought of taking one. Unfortunately, deciding to go on a cruise is the easy part. After that you will have a number of important decisions to make to ensure that you pick the perfect cruise for you.
The most important decision you will face after you decide to go on a cruise is where you want to go. When people think of cruises they usually think of the big cruise ships in the Caribbean. Just imagine all that deep blue water and the sun shining down while you sit on the deck and enjoy cocktails. Ahhhh nice! And while that can be a lot of fun, you should keep in mind that you can go on cruises to almost any part of the world. Take a cruise through the Panama Canal, around the Indian Ocean, or follow the western coast of Africa into the Mediterranean.
Keep in mind that you are not just picking which part of the ocean you’d like to see. Almost all cruises will allow you to make side trips inland when the ship stops at a port of call. This can be either on your own or as part of an organized tour group. If you have always wanted to visit Australia, try combining a trip to Australia with a cruise around the Pacific Ocean.
You should also make sure that you can find a cruise that will give you the experience you want. Obviously, a small cruise ship touring around the coast of Alaska will result in a very different experience from a large cruise ship meandering leisurely around the Mediterranean. While there are major differences in the cruising experience, this is not just about picking the right kind of climate for your trip. If you are looking for all night parties and poolside drinks, go on the Mediterranean cruise. If you want a more relaxed trip, curled up under blankets and whale watching, go on the Alaskan cruise.
You should also remember that certain cruise lines focus on different types of customers. There are cruise ships that will cater to those who want to spend all night drinking and dancing, there are cruise ships that focus on retirees and there are cruise ships that cater to a variety of tastes. Families should look for family-friendly cruises. These family-friendly cruises will have children’s activities and places for teenagers to hang out. The Disney Cruise line specializes in family style cruising.
The level of service you will receive is the biggest factor in your final price. If you are on a tight budget, avoid the high end luxury cruise. Instead go with a premium or even mainstream cruise. The location and size of your cabin will also make a difference. If you are really tight for cash, take a small cabin on the inside of the ship. While your food and cabin may not be as grand as fellow passengers on the exclusive decks, you will at least still be able to afford the airfare home. And you will have the same experiences as the higher paying passengers.
If you can afford it, feel free to treat yourself with a luxury cruise and enjoy all the amenities that come along with staying at a fancy hotel. Except this hotel goes to many different and exotic places!!
While cruises are often all-inclusive, there are a number of things you should confirm before leaving home. First make sure that the cruise ship is aware of any special dietary or smoking restrictions. If your cruise ship will be coming into port, inquire if you need to book any shore excursions in advance. And most importantly, ensure that you have a way to get to the starting point and back again when the cruise is over. Some cruises do not end at the same port that they departed from. Ending a wonderful cruise by being stranded at the ship’s last port of call is not the best way to enjoy your holiday! Spending a few days in the last port of call before returning home will top off the perfect end to the perfect vacation. Happy cruising!

Vacationing is a pastime that is enjoyed by many. While vacations are nice, needed, and important, they can become costly. This cost is often associated with additional expenses such as food, beverages, and entertainment. If you are interested in vacationing aboard a cruise ship, but you are worried about the cost, you dont necessarily have to be.
All-inclusive cruise ships are cruise ships where just about everything is included. The cost of your drinks, food, and entertainment are often taken care of. If you are wondering whether or not you should book reservations aboard a traditional cruise ship or an all-inclusive cruise ship, you are not alone. A large number of travels wonder the same thing.
When it comes in all-inclusive cruise ships, there are a number of advantages and disadvantages. To determine whether you could benefit from an all-inclusive cruise ship, you are encouraged to weight the advantages and disadvantages each. After you have considered each, you are encouraged to make a decision. If the advantages outweigh the disadvantages then an all-inclusive cruise ship may be just what you need and visa versa.
The biggest advantage of all-inclusive cruise ships is that most of your needs are taken care of. As previously mentioned, most all-inclusive cruises cover food, drinks, and entertainment. If you are interested in drinking a large amount of alcohol or feasting on the amazing onboard food, you may be able to do so free of charge. You may also be granted exclusive admittance into movie theatres and video arcades.
To many, having foods, drinks, and entertainment provided free of charge sounds too good to be true. In some cases, it may be. While many of your food and drinks are included in an all-inclusive package, not all are. It is possible that you may be required to pay for your alcoholic beverages. There are some cruise ships where alcohol beverages are included in the package, but on others it is not.
When it comes to food, your food at a sit-down restaurant may be provided free of charge, but your snacks are typically not covered. This often includes snacks or small meals purchased at onboard specialty shops and vending machines. If your snacks and small meals are not covered, you can prevent the extra expenses by eating a large meal. You may also be able to save money by brining your own snacks onboard, if the cruise ship allows it.
As mentioned above, entertainment is often included in an all-inclusive cruise ship package. As with food and drinks, the entertainment is often limited. It is likely that you will gain free admission into a dance or ball, but you will not be able to gamble free of charge. If you are interested in gambling aboard the ships casino, you will have to come up with your own funds.
When it comes to the cost of an all-inclusive cruise, there are many travelers who get confused. The cost of an all-inclusive cruise may seem high, but it is often that way to cover the cruise lines expenses. For many individuals, the cost of an all-inclusive cruise is a great value. To determine whether or not you will save money aboard an all-inclusive cruise, you need to estimate your cost of food, drinks, and entertainment aboard a traditional cruise. Simply by comparing the two, you can easily determine which cruise package offers the better deal.
The advantages and disadvantages of all-inclusive cruise ship vacations are important. By examining each and comparing them to what you want and need out of your cruise, you can easily determine which cruise ship vacation package is right for you.

Today, taking a cheap cruise doesn’t mean having to do without certain luxuries associated with cruise ship travel. In fact, these days, the term cheap basically means getting all the optional extras at a bargain price.
The good news for prospective cruise travellers is these bargain holiday deals are happening all the time and if you follow some basic guidelines, then your next high seas adventure could be just around the corner.
Finding Cheap Cruise Deals
If you are working on a budget then consider travelling during off peak times. These are the high demand periods when cruise lines don’t have any problems filling their passenger quotas and are less inclined to “slash” prices. Summer is a season when people are very much in holiday mode and more likely to want to travel. Concentrating on periods such as the end of summer and beginning of fall will more likely get you a cheap cruise deal that fits well within your budget.
It’s these times when companies are keen to fill their cabins so they offer incentives such as lower prices. The good news for you is that despite the cheaper fares, the quality of the cruise holiday is in no way diminished.
Planning Your Cheap Cruise
Some careful planning is required when looking for a cheap cruise. Obviously, consulting a travel expert is the natural inclination for most people and always a good option. However, more experienced travellers have used the internet to great effect in recent years.
There are no shortage of cruising websites to sift through online, all with the aim of providing you with as much information as possible to make an informed decision. One of the best features online is the alert features offered by some of these sites. Look for newsletter offers; you sign up for a regular newsletter at varying intervals and receive the latest bargain offers. Some sites even provide price alert features which means you enter details such as how much you want to spend, where you want to go and when you want to travel.
Cruise Line Updates
Cruise companies also offer services such as regular updates. As with third party websites, companies also provide information services which will keep you updated about impending offers. The point to remember is cruise lines in most cases will do their best, within reason, to get you on their ships because setting off from port with many empty cabins simply doesn’t make good business sense.
There are more cruise ships on the water today therefore more cabins to fill. Bigger ships and more competition for passengers among companies means better deals for you. Just remember, create a budget, sign up for price alerts, avoid high season travel and be flexible with your travel schedule and you’ll be surprised at the number of cheap cruise deals you’ll have to choose from.

Alaskan luxury cruise discount trips are the choice for many who want to see this outdoor paradise. Bringing the best of Alaska’s waters together with some incredible inland sights as well, cruises are considered one of the finest ways to view as much as possible in a short period of time.
To truly see all Alaska has to offer takes a lot more than a typical vacation can afford, but a luxury cruise is a fantastic way to get a good idea of what this rustic state has to offer. Providing both the comforts of a luxury liner and the rugged outdoor experience, cruises offer something for everyone. Plus, there are even considerations onboard for children, so every member of a family can have an absolute blast while taking in all Alaska has to offer.
For the casual sightseer who wants to enjoy creature comforts, the cruise life is the way to go. From the comfort of the deck, those on an Alaskan cruise can get in some whale watching, see other wildlife and appreciate incredible mountain and glacial views. Once the outdoors gets to be too much - if it ever does - a cruise provides live entertainment, nightclubs, fine dining and tons more to occupy time.
The outdoors types can also enjoy everything the casual sightseer will appreciate and more. Typical cruises offer day trips that can include fishing and hunting expeditions, sightseeing ventures and even helicopter excursions. There’s no reason to miss out on the outdoor adventures even on a cruise, just make sure the liner chosen has plenty of side trips in its itinerary.
For those who choose an Alaskan luxury cruise, the choice won’t disappoint. Typical cruises that sail Alaska run from seven to 14 days in length. They traverse two different paths that each offer their own sights, but both include some incredible glacier views and more.
The Inside Passage cruises generally run about a week in length. Generally stops include Ketchikan, Skagway and Juneau. These stops couple with the sights along the way and side trips that make the experience incredible.
The Gulf of Alaska Cruise, also known as the Glacier Route Cruise, includes some serious sights. On this trip, cruise passengers can expect to see the College fjord and possibly Hubbard Glacier and more. Plus there are stops in major Alaskan ports of call as well.
Side trips on cruises can include hiking outside of Juneau through glacial lands, wildlife sightseeing aboard small, faster moving ships, dogsled rides, park junkets and more. Animals those aboard an Alaskan cruise can hope to see include bears, eagles, whales and even seals.
From quaint fishing towns to incredible parkland excursions the days during an Alaskan cruise are filled with sights that can’t be found anywhere else in the world. At night, those seeking luxury will not be disappointed as cruises are known for pulling out the stops.
Those wishing to find discounts on cruises can find them if they shop around, book in advance and even check out group discounts. There are ways to see it all, enjoy it all and not pay a fortune.

Sailing the deep, blue waters of an ocean on holiday is a dream come true for many. But, some prefer to do so on a much smaller scale than most cruise ships allow. More rugged and especially private, yacht charter trips are a great alternative for vacationers.
The key to finding a great yacht charter trip, however, is doing some homework. The following are some steps to consider before booking a trip or planning a vacation:
* Destination. This is paramount. If you don’t know where you want to go, it will be hard to find a charter. Locations where you can find yacht charter trips include Alaska, the Caribbean, Florida, California, Europe. Pretty much anywhere there’s water, you’ll find a charter company available.
* Purpose of the trip. Do you simply want to sail away your vacation in a relaxing setting or do some serious sight-seeing and fishing, too? The purpose of the trip will help make it easier for you to find the right charter.
* Overnight stay or not? Are you looking for a two-week charter or a single day out on a fishing boat. This is vital information to have in advance.
* Number of people. A charter boat captain will have a set number of people he or she can allow on board. The number will determine availability of the ship and is vital for booking a trip.
Once you know where you want to go, who you want to bring and what you hope to do, the search for a good charter will become much easier. Look for charter companies in the areas you’d like to visit and do shop prices and features. It’s important to know what’s included in a package and what’s expected of passengers. Some sailing charters, for example, actually rely on passengers to help with the process of sailing. If working doesn’t sound fun to you, it’s a good idea to know the expectations in advance.
Before booking a charter trip, check the following things:
* Prices. Shop them.
* Inclusions. Will you have to pay extra for food? Port of call trips? Fishing gear and lures? Make sure you understand everything that’s included in the price and what is not.
* What to pack or bring. A charter is not a huge cruise line. The trip may require you to actively get involved in the sailing process. If so, you may want to pack accordingly. Captain’s attire for a working trip just won’t do.
* Amenities on the boat. If it’s a basic boat, stripped down of all life’s little luxuries, you will want to know this. It may not be the trip for you if a family will be coming along.
* Safety record, years of experience. You want to go on a charter with a captain who knows his or her stuff and the area in which you’ll be sailing. This is especially so in areas with treacherous waters, but applies anywhere as things can and do happen.
A yacht charter cruise is a great idea for a vacation that’s a little different than an ordinary cruise. Keep in mind, however, the little extras on a regular cruise are not likely to be present and you may, in fact, find yourself doing a little sailing, too. These are perfect vacations for those who want to get away from it all without doing it with 1,000 other people.

Who doesn’t want to get away from it all once in a while? A relaxing cruise to an exotic or faraway destination can sound wonderful in the middle of a hectic, workaday week. But, making sure the best of the best is included in a vacation can create more stress than it’s worth. That’s why vacation packages, such as those offered on cruise lines like Royal Caribbean, are worth considering.
Many who consider cruises for the first time aren’t sure what to expect. They often fear they’ll be trapped onboard a ship for the entire vacation, unable to see some of the sights they so long to visit. This is simply not the truth.
Good cruise lines offer a number of stops in major ports of call and even make sure passengers have the ability to see what they want to by offering tours and more. The advantages to taking a cruise over a regular trip to a big destination are many. For those buying packages, the advantages can include:
* Meals. These are generally included on all major cruise lines and can be quite elaborate. Many ships offer a huge variety of food at 5 star quality levels. Almost no one walks away from a cruise saying they’re hungry. This detail is readily taken care of by the ship, so vacationers don’t have to worry about what to eat and where to go.
* Entertainment. Cruises are known for their onboard entertainment. Everything from musical shows, plays and even comedy acts can be found onboard. Plus, there are generally movies, casinos and more available for passengers. Many lines even offer entertainment specifically designed for younger passengers.
* Ports of call. There are generally great stops in the bigger tourist destinations. Mexican resort cities, Alaskan fishing ports, the beaches of the Caribbean and more will not be missed by those who book packages aboard major cruise lines.
* Side trips. Many of the better cruise lines offer “add on” packages vacationers can buy. These can include excursions to go hunting, fishing, sightseeing to special locations and more. There really doesn’t need to be a fear about missing the major sights when a cruise is chosen.
* Lack of hidden costs. Depending on the package that’s purchased, cruise passengers don’t have to worry about how much a trip will cost them. Everything should be included in the up front costs. The only money that’s generally needed beyond the purchase price is that for souvenirs, extra food items if they’re even desired, and perhaps last-minute side trips.
A cruise offers passengers the best of all worlds. Upscale pampering is available onboard along with some great food, entertainment and waterway sights. With day trips and excursions available, there’s no reason to worry about missing something big either.
Cruise packages can be one of the best ways to go when traveling to an exotic port of call. The folks that run the cruises know what they’re doing and it’s their job to make your vacation the best it can be.

“Traditional holidays are a thing of the past” according to Ron & Wyn. Cruising is the only mode of transport appropriate for seasoned travellers like us to see, touch, experience the world and all that it has to offer. The biggest advantage which cruising offers over other holidays is that you take your chosen hotel with you.
Jan: What converted to cruising?
Ron: I worked in the building trade all my life. I can’t really complain.. I’ve had a good run. I earned a very good living working in upper management capacity. I promised myself a holiday of a lifetime for my 40th birthday. That was a few years back.. Wyn persuaded my go on a cruise. I am really glad I did.. We booked on Oriana; a luxurious ship, and cruised around the Caribbean. We must have stopped at 7 different Island over the course of this cruise places like St Lucia, Barbadoes, St Kits, Jamaica, Antigua. It was like having 7 holidays condensed into holiday.
Jan. What was the ship like?
Wyn. A breath of fresh air. Very difficult to put into words but the whole experience was out of this world. We found ourselves in luxurious surroundings. We were lucky to join the ship on its maiden voyage. A stroke of luck, a bonus really. It was very clean ship, thick carpet, three restaurants and we sampled all the Caribbean food that you can imagine. Add to that an array of onboard live entertainment program put together by Cunard’s head of entertainment.
Jan: How many cruised have you done?
Wyn: This is our 14th Cruise. Isn’t that the case Ron? Yes. It is? And, I look forward to many more cruises like this one.. We have been cruising regularly for the part 20 years. And, since Ron retired we have managed to cruise every year because now we have the time to choose the destinations that we always wanted to visit.
Jan: Where are you going this time?
Ron: This is a 20 day cruise trip. We fly to Orlando with our grand children. As a birthday treat, we are taking our 5 grand children to Disneyland. We are going to go to Disneyland with them for 7 days.. We will visit the parks and have as much fun as we can. But, the whole Disneyland part of the trip is for the kids and their enjoyment. We are going to have a couple of birthday parties in Disneyland for them. It is a surprise for both Jamie and Oliver.
The children fly back on the 7th of March and we join a cruise ship from Tampa. This cruise is a trip down the memory lane.. I first visited Barbados 17 years ago and promise myself to go back for two reasons… I really enjoyed my 2 day stay in Barbados plus since then a couple of friends have settled in Barbados and I quite like to see them again. This is a 5 day cruise with a 2 day stay in Barbados… We chose this cruise because of the 2 day stay in Barbados so that I could catch up with my pals.
Jan: What is your advise to would be cruisers?
Wyn: Ron and I like quality in choosing a cruise as well as the ship. We go by the star rating of the ship. Go for the highest rated ship in any fleet I would say. When choosing a cabin… I am less fussed about the location of the cabin but I want the cabin to be clean. Also, we don’t really mind staying in an inside cabin. I say this because we spend most of our time exploring the places that we visit.
Jan: What are your plans for the remaining part of your trip?
Wyn: Hawaii is a place that Ron fell in love with when we cruised all the Hawaiian Islands 5 years ago. I must confess I really liked the people, the climate, the way of life…. They were totally relaxed and laid back… they took life very easy almost at snail’s pace. Quite honestly… I wanted to take a leaf out of the Hawaiian way life… but did not quite manage it… Maybe on this occasion.. I will succeed.. Hawaii offers a huge contrast to the Caribbean…
Jan: Your final remarks on cruising?
Ron: I believe that life is short.. and that you must enjoy every living moment. Also, life passes you by at such a pace that if you don’t enjoy it.. it is going to pass you by. Cruising is the only way that I like to see it… because I want to see it all…
Wyn: I have some deal friends who go on traditional all inclusive holidays and sit by the pool for the duration of their entire holiday.. They seem to enjoy their holiday.. But, for us…. It is carry on cruising and that is the only way.
The very best way to travel is on a cruise ship. It is the ultimate luxury. Choosing the right cruise and cruise ship is the key. Please visit Cruises infomation site at http://www.a2zofcruises.com
